The Butchers U12 Community Cup team finished the season on a high, defeating Eastern Suburbs by 6 wickets in the final game of the cup. The Butchers dismissed Easts in the 14th over for 86, thanks to a stunning 4/14 from U10 Royals call-up Elliot Swinnerton. Some incredible catching from Sam Murray and Zach Doyle was also on display. The batting innings showed some opening style from Monty Galvin (22 from 44) and a captains knock from Ashby Swinnerton with a quick fire 27 (21).

The Butchers also took on Easts in the final pool game in the morning, unfortunately going down by 21 runs on a very heavy wicket. Easts put on 3/92 from the 20 overs, with the Butchers batting innings unable to match the runrate despite a gutsy 13 (34) from Ashby and a tidy 15 (29) from Sam Murray.

Congratulations to a great effort from the Butchers to close out our 2025/26 Junior season.

Go Butchers U12!
Our U12 Community Cup team is in Manly this week taking on the cream of Sydney cricket in the finals round. Our team came out strong this morning, defeating North Sydney in a nailbiter. The Butchers kept the bowling tight, and stunned in the field with 5 run outs and 3 catches. The Butchers brought it home with a solid batting innings including a strong 42 (35) from Ashby Swinnerton.

The full BBL format was on display when Cricket NSW officials arrived to award Ashby Swinnerton with the batters yellow leaders hat and Noah Murray the grey bowling leading hat.

The afternoon game concluded with a loss to JSCC, despite some incredible Butchers spirit. All players in the side took a wicket, while with the bat Ayden Geddes held up the innings with 23 (45).

The team enters day 2 in the middle of the leader board, but with some real impact being delivered in the Sydney comp setting.

Congratulations to the Butchers U12 Mixed Community Cup team for reaching the NSW state finals. Our team will be up against the top Sydney sides this coming Thursday and Friday in Manly. Games will be on PlayHQ live and on Frogbox for the grand final Friday afternoon.

From our U10s through to our major club awards, we’re proud to celebrate the players recognised for their performance, commitment and contribution across the season.

Major Award Recipients
Aidan Clothier – Club Batter of the Year, and also recognised as Male Club Cricketer of the Year.
Sally Ryan – Female Club Cricketer of the Year.
Jack Price – Club Bowler of the Year.
Owen Vardy – Wicket Keeper Award recipient.

These major awards recognise outstanding performances across the season and reflect the hard work, consistency and impact each player has had for their team and for the club.
