What an amazing achievement for an amazing club. Congratulations The Lakes Knights Cricket Club. What a pleasure it is to still be involved with the club.

⭐️ 2025-26 Community Cricket Awards ⭐️

The Lakes Knights Cricket Club exemplifies what a strong community-driven cricket organisation should look like. The club embraces all cricket pathways from Blast Cricket through juniors, women's & girls and then onto seniors while showing amazing community spirit by participating in external events, like Clean UP Australia Day. The club's family-oriented approach has reaped amazing rewards that has seen the number of participants increase by more than 500% over the past five years! The club also has a strong focus on volunteers and has a proven record of looking beyond just club interest and investing in the good of cricket as whole, particularly after assisting in saving a "rival" club teetering on the brink of collapse by preserving its history in a selfless and fair merger.

BNJCA selection ✅

Massive congratulations to Sai Rahul for his selection to stage 2 for Anstey La Frantz, under 14s.

After missing out on 12s and 13s, Sai Rahul didn’t kick stones, didn’t make excuses, he just continued to work hard. He took on the advice “don’t get bitter, get better”.

I’ve had Sai Rahul with me since I started, and to see him achieve his goals… very very proud.

Hardwork 💪🏽👊🏽 = Rewards

I want to spotlight a player who continues to work hard on his cricket and has achieved a massive goal of his.
A massive congrats to Sumer, who was named in a Casey Cup team for Brisbane North. Sumer works hard each and everyday striving to get better. The key to his improvement, isnt just working hard when he does lesson with me, its working hard all the other times. He never gives anything other than his best. He is very respectful, and he is humble and hungry to work harder. A massive keys to success and wanting to help him.
For those that know Sumer, you know how much this means to him, knowing the pride he feels in himself, its a cool feeling to play a small part in that.

Last week was very special for me as a coach.

The keys to success during the week, in my opinion.

- We had clear plans and we executed
- Players had roles and owned those roles
- All coachable kids
- No egos
- We focused on team success while still allowing individuals to shine
- The boys had each others backs, on and off the field.
- The environment was everyone could offer opinions and have a voice without being judged
- A strong captain who had the teams respect
- No one is above anyone else, they all did covers, they all cleaned the changing room, they all carried the drinks at times
- Allowed players to make mistakes but learnt from them
- Most importantly, We had fun

I see so many children practicing batting/bowling and that is fantastic. My advice is always work on your fielding. It’s the difference maker.

More often that not, the better fielding team will win, from grassroots to international.

I just watched every single game of the Sandgate-Redcliffe Gators Taverners season, and they out fielded pretty much every team all season. The clubs first Taverners premiership at the U17 level.

I then watch the Aussies and they are one of the best fielding teams ever, it’s no coincidence they have been as good as they have for as long as they have.

Attitude and embracing the challenge of wanting to make a difference in the field, like the best in the world do.
