Lose the body. Keep the personality.
Some things never change!
Personality lingers long after the body is done.
This week I'd been a bit slack.
I have a guide in spirit I work with every week to hone and expand my skills in certain areas, and I genuinely love our time together.
Let's just say... MH had noticed.
Her attitude has always been simple: if she makes herself available and shows up, so should I.
Hard to argue with that.
I'd promised—without any prompting—that I'd make up the week I'd missed and sit with her twice.
Instead, I was scrolling my phone, laughing out loud at a string of comedians I follow.
MH quietly appeared and watched with me.
Then it struck me.
In all the time I've known her, I couldn't recall ever seeing her laugh.
At most, there's a gentle, closed-lip smile that almost disappears before you notice it.
She's always been remarkably composed. She'd make a fabulous poker player—you'd never know what secrets she was holding.
She's a deep thinker with a voracious curiosity for all things metaphysical and spiritual.
That's simply who she is.
So I finally asked her.
"Why haven't I ever seen you laugh?"
Without a moment's hesitation, she replied,
"I'd so much rather be amazed than amused."
I burst out laughing.
It was such a perfectly MH answer.
It wasn't a clever line or a witty comeback. It was a glimpse into her nature.
She offered that tiny, almost reluctant smile.....then reminded me I had a promise to keep.
"And now," she said, "would be perfect."
Much love
