Hello,

Happy New Year!

I am writing to let you know that unfortunately I will be unable to continue in the role of Net Set Go Coordinator for 2024.

We are looking for someone to take it on for Term 2 this year to run alongside the Newtown and Chilwell Auskick program.

I am more than happy to support the registration process and provide help with the organisation of initial sessions.

Please get in touch via the gmail or page if you are able to continue building on our NSG program.

Friday Night under the Lights!

Good Evening,

For those of you who are interested in doing a little more this year in terms of Netball and planning next steps;

Some options...

1) Junior Competitions at Sports Hub (Geelong South) This is in particular would be suited to our 8 & 9 year olds but could include younger if game sense and fundamental skills are coming along well. If there is enough interest I am happy to link families together to enter a 'Newtown' side. (this doesn't need to be only people from Newtown just a link up from NSG) This enable the girls an opportunity to practice their new skills in a game scenario in a more laid back league. https://www.geelongsportshub.com.au/junior-sport

2) Term 4 Net Set Go Program. A potential option to run concurrently with the beginning of the Summer Netball Season. Unfortunately I will not be able to take this on with family commitments etc but I would be willing to support a volunteer or two to run this if there is enough interest. Please let me know if this is something you would like to investigate further.

3) Term 2 2024 Net Set Go Program. The Net Set Go program will definitely be back again for Term 2 next year. We will run this along side the Auskick season and will organise a few get togethers with them along the way.

I would like to see the program continue to build on Fundamental Motor Skills and Game Sense approach similar to the format this year. I am hoping that we are able to retain and build on the number of children in our 8 -10year old category. This would mean we could continue to build FMS but extend into more structured game play each week, the more older children that enrol the easier it is to have NSG games occurring in the second half of the session on one court. NSG will be a great stepping stone for them participating in a Sports Hub or U11s AFL Barwon Summer team later in the year.

If you have any other ideas or heard of any other great pathways for our girls please get in touch being from Torquay I can miss some of the important memos in Junior Geelong Sport.

Hello everyone!

Just a friendly reminder that tonight, Friday 23rd June is our last Net Set Go session for the season..

To celebrate we will be having a Free Pie and Pizza night for all the kids along with the Auskick group in the main club rooms.

Details below:

Time: NSG session from 5pm - 6pm.
Food: Free Pie and Pizza night along kids and adults drinks available for purchase at the bar open in the club rooms.

If you are unable to attend tonight and you would like to collect your child's certificate and prize, please send me email or message on Facebook and we can arrange a suitable time to collect.

Stay tuned to our page and email for an update on pathways for our older girls (8-10yr olds) in terms of potential competitions and further NSG seasons to be arranged. We will be discussing options with Junior Netball Committee. If you would like to volunteer to coach please get in contact, we would love to hear from you. The more coaches we have the longer or additional programs we can run.

A BIG thank you to Laura Kelson for helping get the season off the ground and all of our regular helpers at the court each Sunday. Thank you to everyone for enrolling your girls, 36 for our very first season is a fabulous turn out.

We hope you have had as much fun as us and cannot wait to see what our next season holds.

*** Important information regarding final NSG session for Term 2, 2023 program***

Hi all,

Our last session will now run on this Friday 23rd June beginning at 5pm instead of Sunday 25th June. The Auskick group have kindly invited us to join the celebrations in the main clubrooms with a Pizza and Pie Party from 6pm.

Apologies for changes to dates, this decision has been made due to availability of courts, coaches and players. If you cannot make our final session I will organise a time to pick up your certificate etc.

Drinks will be available to purchase for our grown ups along with a chance to socialise with the Auskick families.

Please come along to celebrate our very first season of Net Set Go at Newtown!

A fabulous morning out for our littlest Eagles! During the session we worked on our skills to help us with playing our modified netball games. We learnt how to pivot, distance for hands over defence and practiced our fundamental throwing and catching skills. Thanks to Tahlia (T-Mac) for helping out with the session.

We headed on over to meet some special big Eagles and the girls did a fabulous job warming up with them. Lucky, we have been practising our fast feet! They kept up and had a ball.

D grade appreciated all of the extra help with the tunnel and cheering for our special milestone players Jordhi and Daina.

Thanks to all of the parents that got over to the Joeys venue. It was so special to watch our little ones with the big Eagles I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did.

I have attached some photos and videos. Unfortunately the ones from the tunnel didn’t work out but if you have any feel free to share.
