BWPS Cabbage Tree Island Race Underway: A light westerly breeze greeted competitors on Pittwater today as the fleet set sail in the Cabbage Tree Island Race, Race 3 of the 2026 RPAYC Bluewater Pointscore Series. The 140-nautical-mile offshore challenge takes crews north to Cabbage Tree Island before returning to Pittwater, testing navigation, strategy and endurance across one of the Club’s classic bluewater events.

🌊 Bluewater Pointscore Series – Race 3 | Cabbage Tree Island Return Race ⛵

The RPAYC Bluewater Pointscore Series heads offshore again this Saturday, 13 June 2026, for the iconic Cabbage Tree Island Return Race.

The fleet will set sail from Pittwater, Broken Bay at 1000hrs, taking on the challenging passage north to Cabbage Tree Island and return (covering 145nm) as competitors continue their pursuit of Bluewater Pointscore honours. The race forms the third event of the 2026 series and promises a mix of tactical decision-making with changing forecast for offshore conditions predicted, and close competition across the fleet.

With an impressive Two Handed line-up, they are sure to provide some great action as they tackle one of the NSW coast's classic coastal races.

Starting from Pittwater, New South Wales, on 2 October 2026, competitors will embark on an 890-nautical-mile offshore adventure to the spectacular Lord Howe Island, rounding the iconic Ball's Pyramid before returning to Pittwater.

This challenging course combines ocean racing, navigation, endurance, teamwork, and the opportunity to sail through one of the most breathtaking marine environments in the South Pacific.
