Bushcare date set for September - Please mark your diaries, our next working bee is Sunday 13th September 3-4pm. Join us in Davidson Street Park for an hour of weeding, wildlife spotting and catching up with your local community.

Our August 22 working bee volunteers did a fantastic job untangling woody exotic vines and troublesome garden escapees from native plants and trees. We can't call them saplings any more they are getting so tall!

Hello - bushcare is on this Saturday!
Saturday 22nd August 3-4pm.
Meet behind the park shelter in Davidson Street Park for an hour of power weeding and a small planting.
Please be aware there are some steep cliffs and even some slight overhangs. We will point out the sections to stay clear of in the safety brief at 3pm so please be prompt this Saturday.
The creek bank bears the brunt of floods and can be eroded significantly, as it was during the events of February and May 2022.

Hey, we have crunched the numbers for the past 12 months!

- We volunteered 72 hours to help restore and regenerate the banks of Enoggera Creek surrounding Davidson Street.

- 20 individuals came to one or more of the 11 working bees, making an average group size 6-7 people. 280 plants went in.

We hope to see all our regular and occasional volunteers again during the coming year. Well done to you all!

If you've never been, you don't know what you're missing, so we hope to see any interested new people at our next working bee, 22 August at 3pm for 1 hour.

Here is a snapshot of your activities:

Upcoming bushcare Sun 17th May 3-4pm - Our upcoming working bee will be Sunday 17th May 3-4pm meeting between the green bridge and the end of Davidson Street.

The main focus for Sunday is a little way in towards the creek, downslope then on a flat middle part of the bank. There we can concentrate on untangling vines and grasses from the native plantings. I recommend long pants and sleeves and a hat for protection - the grass is long and there are a few sharp branches about.
