What a way to finish the season - so proud of Kobi Waddell Racing and all he achieved!

As the curtain closes on a very promising and exciting first mini-season in Junior Formula 500 for Kobi, it’s been a huge learning curve and an even bigger step forward.

With Kobi only turning 12 in January, it was a limited campaign, just five race nights, but one we’re incredibly proud of.

Across those five meetings, Kobi recorded:

* 3 Heat Wins
* 4 Placings
* 5 Feature Starts, finishing: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th

He also etched his name into the record books at the Perth Motorplex, setting both a 1-Lap Track Record and a 12-Lap Track Record, an incredible achievement in his debut season.

Each time he hit the track, he continued to build his craft, gain valuable seat time, and grow in confidence behind the wheel. It’s been an exciting debut season and a glimpse of what’s to come.

We can’t wait to return for the 2026/27 season and take on a full campaign.

Tonight we’re back at the Perth Motorplex for the final round of the Junior Formula 500's WA season — and it’s all on the line.

After a huge few weeks, Kobi Waddell Racing heads into tonight full of confidence following his first Feature Race win, setting both lap and race records and proving he’s a serious contender in the field.

With championships still to be decided and a stacked lineup of young talent ready to battle it out, it’s shaping up to be a massive night of racing.

After heading into the event as one of the exciting rookies to watch, Kobi delivered in a big way at the Perth Motorplex in the Junior Formula 500's WA.

In just a handful of meetings in the division, Kobi showed he’s well and truly a force to be reckoned with — taking out his first ever Feature Race win and doing it in style.

Heat 1: P7 > P6
Heat 2: P1 > P2
Heat 3: P5 > P1
Feature: P2 > P1

Starting on the front row for the final, Kobi made his move early and never looked back — taking the lead on lap two and controlling the race from there.

On a dominant run tonight, he:
• Set a new 1-lap track record
• Set a new 12-lap race record
• Recorded the fastest lap of the feature (17.025)

It was a highlight moment for Kobi and the team to finish on the podium at his first ever Perth Motorplex race meeting!

We are excited to be there again this Wednesday and Saturday night for more on track action🏁

What a night at Perth Motorplex for Round 5 of the Roadline Civil Contractors Junior West Coast Series 🏁

In Kobi’s first race meeting at the Motorplex, he took on the bigger track with plenty of confidence and came away with a great night of racing and valuable experience.

Results:
Heat 1: P8 to P4 (Fastest Lap of event 17.449)
Heat 2: P1 to P1 (Fastest Lap of event 17.479)
Feature: P2 to P3 (Fastest Lap of event 17.696)
Kobi secured fastest lap time in all three events.

After coming off a strong weekend in Albany, it was great to keep that momentum rolling and continue building and finish on the podium in the feature.

For Kobi’s first time racing under lights at the Motorplex, it was a very pleasing result and another important step forward in his Junior Formula 500 journey.
