VCS Round 1 – Cobden

Great to be back & in the new OTK for Round 1 of the 2026 Victorian Country Series at Cobden.

Started the weekend strong — P3 in timed practice and P2 in qualifying. Unfortunately Heat 1 didn’t go our way, finishing P18. Sunday was tough as well, but we pushed through and finished the final.

Not the start we were hoping for, but plenty of positives and a lot to take away. We’ll regroup, reset, and come back stronger next round 💪

As 2026 starts it’s a great time to reflect on what an amazing year 2025 was on the track.

Some of the many highlights we’ve experienced include;
⁃ City of Melbourne - finishing 4th in final for our first time racing on the track
⁃ SA State cup at Barossa - taking home the win
⁃ VCS - Round 1 win at Ballarat, 2nd place at Portland, 1st at Cobden
⁃ Mildura - started 6th in final finishing 3rd only 0.022 behind 2nd
⁃ Dubbo - lucky enough to travel to dubbo an experience the racing there
⁃ SA state title - 2nd in heat race in first race meet in Seniors
⁃ Moved from Juniors to Seniors towards the end of the year
⁃ Vic state cup - poled qualifying in the wet convincingly
⁃ Finished 3rd in Victorian Country Series for 2025

A great end to the 2025 karting season!

Finishing off with my second race in Seniors at the Victorian State Cup over the weekend! Going into the weekend aiming for top 15 and lots of learnings.

Excited to get pole in Qualifying by 0.322, unfortunately couldn’t quite get there in the final finishing 9th but had some pace in the heats.
The year has been a huge team effort and I’m so grateful for the LJM team support - John WV Karts & Parts, Dad Ell Jones & also Paul Dankowski Paul
