Last night, Jack Muhovics and Peter Henderson represented our club at the SACA Community Cricket Awards in Adelaide.

A huge congratulations to Jack on being named a Top 3 finalist for Young Leader of the Year πŸ‘ An incredible achievement and a true reflection of the passion, leadership and commitment you bring to our club and community. We are so proud of you!

Another massive congratulations to Hendo on being recognised for an outstanding 50 years of service. An incredible milestone and a testament to your dedication, something our club is extremely proud of.

The Mount Burr United Cricket Club celebrates the efforts and achievements of our Under 12 and Under 14 players across the season. It was fantastic to reflect on the growth, teamwork and enjoyment the players brought to the game throughout the season.

The Mount Burr United Cricket Club proudly awarded Life Membership to Jordan Muhovics today in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the club.

Life Membership is the highest honour our club can bestow, recognising years of dedication, leadership and service to Mount Burr cricket. Jordan becomes the 11th Life Member of the club, joining a remarkable family legacy alongside his two grandfathers, his father and his older brother.

Jordan’s commitment to the Burr both on and off the field has played a significant role in supporting and strengthening the club. This recognition reflects the respect and appreciation the club has for his continued efforts.

πŸπŸ’š Seniors End of Season Break-Up πŸ’›

The boys wrapped up the season with a trip to the Millicent golf course for 9 holes, producing a display of golf that could only be described as… questionable at best. Despite the best efforts of both teams β€” β€œGolfer Girls” and β€œHot Netballers” β€” the match ended in a draw, although the scorecards may not have been the most reliable source of truth.

After surviving the fairways, the fellas returned to Can Hill for a few well-earned drinks and a BBQ, funded by the season’s fines money. A big shout out to our fines master Steve Hughes, who kept the boys honest (and well fined) throughout the year.

A great way to celebrate and wrap up another season of seniors cricket. πŸ’šπŸ’›

MOUNT BURR UNITED WIN THEIR FIRST EVER UNDER 12 FLAG COACHED BY JACK MUHOVICS

What a performance from the Mount Burr United Cricket Under 12 boys, to secure the premiership in the Mount Gambier & District Cricket Association

After some early strong hitting, a sharp throw from Parker Wells allowed Leo Mules to complete a run out and get us on the board. Archie Westerman then turned the game with back-to-back wickets, before Leo claimed two of his own to bring us within reach. Another run out followed through great teamwork, with Hunter Hughes’ throw finished off by Jameson Bateman at the stumps.

The boys were outstanding in the field all day, saving runs and keeping the pressure on. Jackson Stewart claimed his first wicket of the season at a crucial moment, before Spencer Redman sealed the win by sending the stumps flying.

Congratulations to Leo Mules on being named Player of the Match for a brilliant all-round performance.

Thank you to all the supporters who came along, the club is incredibly proud of this group.

What a performance from our Under 12 boys to secure the premiership!

πŸπŸ’š Grand Final – First Innings πŸ’›

The boys took to the field tonight in the first innings of the β€˜Green’ Grand Final against West and posted an impressive total of 127.

Jameson Bateman set the tone early with solid defence and hard running between the wickets, highlighted by a strong pull shot to the boundary. George Ballantyne and Leo Mules then produced the partnership of the day, finding the gaps, running aggressively and putting away loose balls to keep the scoreboard moving.

After a brief wobble following drinks, Joel Skeer and Parker Wells steadied things at a crucial stage, working hard and showing composure when it mattered most.

The boys will take the field one last time tomorrow, ready to put their strong fielding form into action as they look to defend their hard-earned total.

We are set up for a cracking finish. Go Burr boys, bring it home! πŸ’šπŸ’›

πŸπŸ’š Grand Final Week Preparation πŸ’›

The Under 12 boys have been hard at work this week as they prepare for the Grand Final, making the most of every opportunity to sharpen their skills.

The new bowling machine was put to great use, allowing the kids to refine their technique, while the bowling/fielding drills showed the same intensity and focus we’ve seen all season.

The effort and energy has been outstanding, with the boys fully embracing the moment.
