Coach’s Report – Indoor Nets Week 3

Fantastic turnout on Friday night! 👏

There was plenty of energy from the group, and that energy translated into great intent throughout the session. It was great to see players embracing the challenges and starting to put the standards we’ve been working on into practice.

We saw plenty of good signs across both batting and bowling.

Just as importantly, there is still plenty of room for improvement — and that’s exactly where we want to be at this stage of pre-season.

We’re not chasing perfection. We’re building habits, learning what works, identifying what needs work and getting 1% better every session.

The message moving forward

Turn up.
Train with intent.
Compete in everything.
Learn from each other.
Get better.

Our first outdoor session is now just around the corner, and the work we’ve put in indoors is giving us a solid foundation to build from.

🏏 WEEK 3 – INDOOR NETS! 🦈

Join us this Friday, 4th September from 7:30pm–9:00pm at Moe Indoor Nets for another big pre-season session! 💪

This week we’re focusing on batting, bowling, game scenarios and building our club standards. Every rep counts as we continue to improve together.

🦈 Coach’s Report – Indoor Nets Session #2

A decent turnout for our second indoor nets session, with plenty of positive signs across the night.

The biggest takeaway was the intent shown throughout the session. Players came in ready to work, and we continued to build on the standards we established during pre-pre-season.

🏏 Batting

Our focus was on technique, movement and decision-making rather than simply hitting the ball hard.

We worked on:

* Getting our setup right
* Trigger movements
* Front and back-foot movement
* Shot selection
* Playing with balance and control

There were some really good examples of players slowing things down, working on their technique and taking ownership of their development.

🎯 Bowling

The bowlers continued working on:

* Run-up rhythm
* Consistent actions
* Hitting good areas
* Building control
* Having a plan for each ball

The challenge now is to keep repeating good movements and build consistency as the workload increases.

💪 The Standard

We’re starting to see the difference between just attending training and actually training with intent.

Our five pillars continue to be at the centre of everything:

Have Fun

We’re still early in the journey, so it’s not about expecting everything to be perfect.

It’s about getting 1% better every session.
