MCYS members are well aware that over recent months we have been in discussions with Mornington Yacht Club to merge MCYS into MYC for many great reasons and benefits to MCYS members!

MYC is the oldest yacht club on the 'Pen and we wanted to deliver on our promises to Foundation and General Members providing:

1. A proper, dedicated club Clubhouse !
2. A great club culture !
3. Competitive Club Sailing !
4. An inclusive club for both Power and Sail !
5. An active social club with well managed and well run events !
6. An active power and sail cruising community !

and much, much more !

Well, it's now signed, sealed and delivered and we could not be happier now being part of MYC !

Our thanks go to the MYC Integration Sub-Committee led by Commodore Andrew Young and the MCYS Merger Sub-Committee led by Immediate Past Commodore John Hall. Great collaboration by both clubs ! Well done to all !

MCYS ran a Nav Rally event on Port Phillip on Saturday in glorious weather - perfect conditions - sunny, warm and light winds. We ran Course 108 this time - starting in Dromana Bay outside Martha Cove, heading north up around the Mornington Mussel Farm and return. A mix of experienced crew and newcomers getting training and familiarization. Smooth run around the course and finishing with drinks & snacks at anchor near Pebble Beach in Tassel Cove. Lovely! Wingara III made a decent showing in its debut with skipper John Hall and Malcolm Knight as Navigator. Sea Child further improved its lead in the overall comp. MCYS is planning an unforgettable weekend trip to Blairgowrie from 7th–9th February, and we need YOUR help to capture the magic! 🌊✨
We’re looking for a skilled videographer—whether you’re a professional, a talented student studying video/film, or a keen amateur with a passion for drones—to join us and create stunning footage.
We’d love on-water shots of our sail and motor boats, families enjoying themselves, and the overall wonderful atmosphere of the event. The final material will be used on our website and social media platforms (both organic and strategic content).

The 2024 MCYS Opening Day was a fantastic event, with perfect weather setting the scene for a memorable day on the water. Members mustered outside Martha Cove and followed the Coast Guard into the cove, saluting and cheering the Committee Boat before returning to their berths. The piper sounded wonderful, and the blessing of the fleet was especially moving, adding to the excitement of the new season.
