Hey team,

I’d just like to take an opportunity to introduce both myself and my business partner, Dennis, as the new owners of your gym.

Having got to know Aaron over the last little while, and see firsthand how he operates as a coach and gym owner, but more impressively, how he conducts himself as a person with the genuine love and care that he has for this community, inspires us to step up and ensure that we continue to give you all that you deserve as members of this gym.

It’s no doubt a sad time for all of you, yet one that can be accepted with the excitement around the fact that Aaron now gets to enjoy more time with his family, something that he’s certainly deserving of after all these years of sacrifice and commitment to his brand. We wish you the very best, mate. Thank you for a smooth and supportive transition and we look forward to seeing you on the gym floor training alongside your members in the months and years to come.

A little background on each of us:

My name is Christian and I’ve owned ONE Gym Padstow, a Strength and Conditioning gym for the past 12 years, alongside my other company, Journey Retreats, a health and fitness travel company that takes fitness groups around the world for training and health experiences.

Over the years my biggest achievement has been that of building communities of strong, fit, healthy and happy people that support one another toward their own success, and I look forward to positively influencing this awesome community in much the same way - this is what drew me to this particular opportunity.

My business partner, Dennis, started training at ONE Gym in Padstow a couple of years ago and hasn’t looked back - committing himself to daily sessions, improving his own health and fitness along the way, and like me, shares the same values toward nurturing positive environments to bring the very best out in people.

Whilst you will notice a change in ownership and branding, we don’t want to change everything on you all at once. You'll still have some of the familiar coaches, as well as the existing timetable.

Our training style, and programming, is very similar to what you’re all used to and we hope to be able to deliver it in a way that sees you all continue to grow and develop as you work toward achieving your own health and fitness goals - whatever they may look like to you.

We have a lot of new and exciting ideas that we hope to implement over the next few weeks, and will continue to learn from you all as to what it is exactly that you’re all wanting from your commitment to training with us.

We look forward to meeting and working with you all - you’ll see each of us on the gym floor in different capacities over the coming weeks and we can’t wait to get to know you. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all. I’ll provide our phone numbers below if anyone wants to jump on a call or meet up for a chat. Thank you to those of you that we’ve already had the pleasure of meeting over the past few weeks, whilst not surprised, it’s been comforting to know that we’re amongst a welcoming and quality group of genuine people.

ITS BEEN A LONG TIME COMING...

But we’re back!!!!

Classes resume Monday the 18th of October.

Inline with the public health orders, you would need to be double vaccinated or have a medical exemption to be able to return to classes.

Classes are capped at 20 people so booking through MINDBODY will be essential.

Masks will still be mandatory during classes again unless you have a medical exemption.

Can’t wait to see everyone!!!

What advice would you give to someone looking to improve their health and fitness?
I never used to like going to the gym. I have joined fitness first, fernwood and many others, only to go for the first 2 weeks then cancel after a while. Working out alone just sucks. At crossfit we push each other, we workout together, we cheer when someone reaches their PB, if you need motivation to get started joining crossfit is definitely a massive first step. For the first time in my life I enjoy my morning workout. For someone that always hated a gym, that's saying a lot 😁

Today lockdown WOD is a butt and belly burner!!!

Ensure you keep a neutral spine during the single leg deadlifts, if you have to bend/flex your spine you’ve gone too far.

Add any type of resistance to make the single leg deadlifts challenging enough to achieve 8-15 reps per set
