At Mentone Girls’ Grammar Aquatic Centre, our instructors are committed to helping swimmers build confidence, develop skills and feel comfortable in the water.

This week, meet Bryony, who has been part of our team for the past four years.

Regular swimming is an important part of developing confidence, technique and water skills at every stage.

At the Mentone Girls’ Grammar Aquatic Centre, consistent practice helps swimmers build muscle memory, strengthen technique and continue progressing towards their goals.

Taking a break from swimming, particularly over winter, can interrupt this progress. Every session provides an opportunity to maintain skills, build confidence and develop further.

As Australia's swimmers inspire the nation with their performances in the pool, it's a timely reminder that swimming is more than a sport—it's an essential life skill.

With recent Life Saving Victoria statistics showing drowning incidents remain above the 10-year average, there has never been a better time to build confidence in the water.

Mentone Girls' Grammar Aquatic Centre is open to the public and welcomes girls and boys of all abilities. Our qualified instructors offer a range of programs, including:
• Learn to Swim
• Learn to Dive
• Water Polo
• Squad Swimming
• Holiday Programs

The Aquatic Centre is open Monday to Friday after school and Saturday mornings.

We hope all of our families have enjoyed a wonderful break.

A reminder that Learn to Swim classes resume on Monday 13 July 2026. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another term of building confidence, developing skills and having fun in the water.

Continuing families
Our Learn to Swim program operates on a continuous enrolment basis, so all Term 2 enrolments have automatically rolled over into Term 3. No action is required unless you have already advised us of any changes.

New families
Limited places are available across selected levels. To enquire about availability or find the right class for your child, please contact the Swim School on (03) 9581 1221.

Our 3-Day Diving Intensive is a great way for children to try diving, build confidence and develop new skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Whether they're stepping onto the diving board for the first time or looking to improve their technique, this program caters to a range of abilities.

Learn to Dive Clinic
90-minute sessions
$115 for 3 days

Participants must:
✔️ Be 9 years or older
✔️ Be confident in deep water

Each session includes both pool and dry-land training. Please bring:

Through consecutive daily lessons, swimmers have the opportunity to strengthen their skills, refine technique and build confidence in the water in a focused and supportive environment.

Huge congratulations to Harry and Aleia on being selected to represent Victoria at the 2026 School Sport Australia Championships!

We are incredibly proud to see both divers named in the School Sport Victoria (SSV) team lists — a fantastic achievement and recognition of their hard work, dedication and commitment in and out of the pool.

We look forward to cheering Harry and Aleia on as they represent Victoria on the national stage and wish them every success for the Championships ahead.

A huge congratulations to our talented divers who recently competed at the SSV Trials, proudly representing their schools.

With six athletes from Mentone Dive Club taking to the boards, it was wonderful to see such strong displays of teamwork, sportsmanship and determination throughout the competition.

Special congratulations to Aleia and Harry on their outstanding results, each placing third in their respective age groups — a fantastic achievement.
It is always rewarding to see hard work in training translate into success in competition. We are proud to see our divers continue to thrive both in and out of the pool. Well done to all involved.
