We headed out west looking to put together a strong performance and come away with a convincing win. While the pressure around the contest wasn’t quite at the level we’ve set for ourselves in previous weeks, we still did enough in the key moments to control the game. Our ability to keep generating scoring opportunities and consistently hit the scoreboard allowed us to build momentum throughout the match. As the game wore on, we gradually extended our lead and maintained control, eventually running out comfortable winners by around 60 points

Women’s division 1 faced a tough challenge against a strong Newtown side in Mahoney Park. Newtown came out firing and built a significant lead through the first half. Despite the scoreboard pressure, the saints kept working hard and never dropped their heads, continuing to compete and support one another throughout the game. A special mention goes to the backline, whose valiant effort and determination helped stem the flow at times against relentless attacking pressure, especially in the 2nd half. While the scoreboard didn’t fall our way, the effort and resilience shown by the group will hold them in good stead as they turn their attention to next week’s challenge against Sydney Uni
