WORLD CUP FEVER AT RANGERS 🌏⚽

As the 2026 World Cup kicks off today, we are so excited to launch our team sweepstake as a bit of fun together as a club!

FUN FACT: We have exactly 48 teams at our club this season and there are 48 countries participating in the World Cup‼️

So, using a sweepstake generator, we’ve randomly assigned everyone a team - and now we can get into the spirit! The winner of the sweepstake will be awarded a suprise prize and of course, bragging rights as a team until the next World Cup! 🏆

Whilst we enjoy this bit of competition, let’s also not forget to get behind the Socceroos! 💚💛

This is all about bringing everyone together and enjoying the excitement of the world’s most popular sport. Let the games begin! ⚽️🩶

🌟 Volunteer of the Month 🌟

This month, we are proud to celebrate and honour a truly dedicated member of our community - Tony Vasarelli!

Tony is the kind of person every club is privileged to have. Week after week, he’s there on Saturday mornings, always willing to lend a hand wherever it’s needed. As a seasoned member of our community, he has 3 sons at Rangers, Zac and Bailey are both former Ranger players turned Instructional Referees, and Eli who plays for U7Bos. Whether he’s stepping up as a Ground Official or jumping behind the BBQ at a moment’s notice, Tony does it all with a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to help.

He embodies the true Rangers spirit of teamwork, respect, and unwavering support for our younger Rangers. His reliability, enthusiasm, and quiet leadership make a real difference to our club and the experience we create for everyone involved.

Tony, thank you for everything you do. Your contribution does not go unnoticed, and we’re incredibly grateful to have you as part of the Rangers community.

Here are two more of our amazing committee members that you might see lurking around the fields and games 💚🖤

Theo Katsetas
Sponsorship Coordinator

Key Responsibilities: Theo works in close collaboration with our sponsors. He had the particularly intense task of coordinating and recruiting our sponsors for the new 26/27 jerseys. (We love our sponsors so we’d say he’s done a great job here!)

When/where you might see him: Theo is a Super League player and manager so you would be best to see him take the pitch on Saturday afternoons! He is known to lend a hand to the BBQ every now and then too.

Mary Vasilas
General Committee Member

Key Responsibilities: Mary is new to our committee this year and is passionate about our community and football. She is our club representative and coordinates our participation in the Western Sydney Wanderers Ambassador Program. She also supports lots of other activities in the club like ordering and collecting bread rolls for our BBQ on Saturday morning and then often staying to ground official for the day.

When/where you might see her: Most early morning Saturdays, you’ll find her at Bakers Delight and then at Annangrove. Mary is also a player for our All Age Women Division 1 team so you might see her training during the week or take the pitch herself Sunday afternoon.

This club is so grateful to have these outstanding volunteers (and dedicated players too) 💚🖤

Female Football Week Finale 💚🖤(… Only 1 Week Late)

For our final giveaway, we opened it to ALL of our female rangers; our players, coaches, managers, volunteers, Mums, Mother figures, and Grandmothers! As a part of entering the giveaway, they were all asked “What’s the best part of being a ranger?” and the responses just blew us all away. We loved reading them so much, we have included some here too for you all to see 💚🖤

Thank you as well again to our business partners for sponsoring the gifts - we couldn’t do it without you. Our winners:

At Box Hill Rangers, our club simply wouldn’t run without our incredible volunteers. From early field set-ups to the final whistle, so many people work behind the scenes to support our players and families.

Our canteen is more than food — it’s the heart of our community.

Our BBQ team, field set-up crews, coaches, managers, and ground officials all play a vital role each week.

A special shoutout to our committee members, whose dedication, leadership and countless hours are the backbone of our club.
