We teach several complete East Asian combative systems. No, it’s not MMA – we teach complete, separate systems, not bits and pieces, and our teachings are not designed to make you a street fighter, but rather a well rounded, healthy individual who is capable of defending him or herself in times of need. I hear you asking how one person can seriously teach so many different arts? Well 44 years ago,

I started a journey to find the ultimate fighting art and do you know what? There is no such thing! All the arts have something of value, it’s just what appeals to you. It just so happens that through my sojourns – being single helped – through Australia and East Asia, I found numerous combative arts that appealed to me. Others didn’t! I practised three different styles of karate, another style of aikido and jujutsu, but they didn’t appeal to me as much as what I kept. I make no pretensions to being a Master or anything of the sort, but I have a lot of experience as a student which I wish to share with more than just my 3 most senior students and my kids. I don’t have a lot of years left and offer what I have to any true seekers of “the Way”. Traditional Asian fighting arts are designed to practise into old age and maintain a disciple’s freedom – whether it be making you healthier or more confident. As my (now deceased) masters, Wang Zhong Dao and He Bing Chuan were fond of saying “Why would you bother putting so much of your life into this if you are training for a fight you may never have. Train for your life (i.e. health) – self-defence is a by-product”
