Training a horse is much like building a house 🏠

A builder can build two aesthetically identical houses, one with a strong foundation and one without.

One takes longer to build and costs more money.

One was a faster build, and much cheaper.

On completion of construction, those passing by can't tell the difference. The houses initially present the same.

But given time and exposure to the elements/day-to-day life, the houses begin to show their differences.
While one remains solid and shows normal signs of aging.
The other does not withstand the elements well and begins to deteriorate structurally and aesthetically more quickly, resulting in higher repair and maintenance costs. Over time, these costs will likely add up to much more than the higher cost of the house built with a stronger foundation.

Horse training isn't that different from building a house. How you start the build often determines many future factors.

Go slow and set a strong foundation, the nervous system needs time to adapt. If you allow the time, you will have a more confident and sounder horse in the years ahead.
