Dust has settled.
We’re home. Back to reality.
Our Chiang Mai trip was incredible.
Skye didn’t get her hand raised…
but she went the distance, toe to toe in two close, high level wars against seasoned pros and held her own very well. The first, a 3 rounder in Bangkok, live on Ch8 and the second a week later, a 5 rounder for a stadium belt in Chiang Mai
That kind of experience we simply can’t find in Australia.
We’ve accepted it: no fights in WA until she’s 18 and turns pro.
Self-funding East Coast weekends costs more than two weeks in Thailand…
so the Land of Smiles is where we’ll keep building her ring time for now.
Huge thank you to Boon at Boon Lanna Muay Thai.
You took Skye in like she’d been there forever, treated her like a pro, gave her the hard fights we asked for, and trusted her to represent your name.
To Bruna, the pad holders and the pros — you pushed her to the absolute limit. We’re grateful for every single one of you.
To all the new friends from around the world who made this trip what it was and cheered Skye on — thank you.
And Andrew Nelson… four years since a 12-year-old kid first stepped through the ropes. You’ve helped shape the young woman she’s becoming and we have added another story to the book of Lanna Gym Oz, We appreciate you mate, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
Nearly three weeks into three minutes is impossible…
but we gave it a crack.
Thanks for all the support.
Team Branson is just getting started.
