Gorgeous Scooby had his final handover and headed home this morning, after his introduction to becoming a ridden horse at Kelti Park. I couldn’t be prouder of him, taking the best care of his rider gorgeous Naomi, who is also very new to this crazy malarkey we call ‘fun’. It was an absolute pleasure having him in my stable and I am so grateful for the opportunity to introduce him to his new career. ❤️❤️❤️

Have to share this video from this morning! Yesterday Scooby’s family came out for a progress update and first rides. He was an absolute star, and during the session I learnt that he is not a big fan of water or puddles 💦 This morning, on what is likely up there with one of the crappiest weather days of the year 🙊 I thought what a perfect training opportunity with some puddles up in the arena… this kid is just a ripper!!! Sensible, willing and so keen to please 🫶🏼

Little Scooby starting to find the rhythm and some balance. Little ripper!

My first weekend at home after 6 weeks of being away coaching, travelling or running clinics. It was a beautiful weekend for me to rest and spend some time at home. Today treated myself to an unsupervised trip to Bunnings for some project materials! (Sorry Hubby haha 🙊) The last week and bit contained lessons, a whirlwind trip to Sydney, and schooling of the residents. Gorgeous little Scooby is making the most outstanding progress every single ride, proving the heart, trainability, temperament and spirit of the trusty Standardbred 🙌

As I’m sitting on a plane about to depart for Sydney for my “other” job… (🙊) I’m finally having a chance to reflect on the Dressage Clinic run on Saturday. What an amazing and beautiful bunch of ladies that attended, I had the absolute pleasure of working with. My real goal on Saturday, apart from providing some coaching and support, was to create a really encouraging and supportive environment for all. According to my feedback to date, I think this was well and truly achieved and some new friendships have even formed through this experience. I want to thank each of my riders, for turning up, staying present and creating that beautiful comfortable space for your fellow riders 🫶🏼 This is the way forward in our sport - more support, more encouragement, more positive thoughts, more cheering, enjoyment of your sport! NO judgement, less nitpicking! No matter our skill level, we are all in the same boat, all on the same roller coaster… I truly appreciate you all, thank you for supporting my little business and a massive well done for your contribution on Saturday 💜💜💜🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼👏👏👏

The usual lessons, resident Cal had his first outing to Brookleigh and resident Auzzo went to the ARCA challenge to jump some coloured sticks. A number one all over for Texaroo, support crew for Mel and JD, tasked with jockey duties on lovely Phantom. New arrival Scooby is now on his way to transitioning to a ridden horse after a planned career on the track didn’t quite make it, he is adorable! Not enough days in a week or hours in a day at the moment 🤪

I think this lovely boy deserves a dedicated post of his own, after his stellar debut to the showing world last weekend. Off The Track Standardbred Euphoric Moment (Scotty as he is better known) owned by my beautiful friend Kelli Fawcett attended the Dual Code Show last weekend at SEC. Kel had tasked me with some schooling tune up in the days prior, show prep and being the horse pilot for the day. Although holding some tension, Scotty eventually settled and put in some beautiful work to make us very proud. He saved his best workout of the day for last, being called in for top 5 in the OTT Classic from a reasonable size class. Thank you Kel for trusting me with your steed, I hope we did you proud ❤ Vickiphotos - Vicki Tapper ..... keeping me broke with her fantastic snaps! Even though I don't own this horse, I am so proud of him I couldn't help myself and had to buy photos ❤ See less
