Bits of action from day 2 and day 3 of Aussies! The Lonnie IRB team did amazing this week, with every team progressing into quarters and semis. Lonnie made two finals, in the under 23s Women’s mass rescue (6th), and the under 23s Women’s teams (7th). For a team in its second year of racing, with many members having only started this year, these results are something we are really proud of.
Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support of our team! We would also like to extend a huge thank you to our Aussie offical Charlie Bidgood and patient coordinator Huw Joyce. Thank you to Charlie, Huw and Heather for officialling throughout the season and to our on the day team managers Jess Ponsford, Annabelle McPhail, Poppy Somerville, Diaz Willis, Steph Glover and Boo (Michael Butler) our patient boat driver - we wouldn’t have been able to compete this year without you.
Thank you to everyone at for enabling us with the opportunity to compete not only at state carnivals but to represent Point Lonsdale at a national level.
Lastly, the team could not have made it here without the outstanding efforts of our coach and team manager Josh Vaughan, coach Will Gourlay, assistant team manager Jess Robinson and Kye Gray for all his work in tuning the motors and driving the boats up to Mollymook. 💛🖤 Can’t wait to be bigger and better than ever next season 🤠
