Yesterday, our small community at Tamworth Racecourse was rocked by the news of the passing of Steve Meyer.

Much has been said, yet it still never feels like enough. Steve was a genuinely good man. A true gentleman, a horseman, and someone who carried more kindness in his little toe than most do in their entire body.

We will miss his stories. We will miss seeing him walk his old mate “Socks” down to the sand roll. And we will miss those warm hugs on cold winter mornings. Our whole community is hurting.

If there is any comfort to be found, it’s that he left us doing what he loved most, at the races, alongside his best mate, Socks.

Taken far too soon. He will be deeply missed.

A huge thank you to Coopers Breeding and Racing for generously sending two winter doona rugs for their girls, Imagoodsort & Tiger Tiers. The girls are officially tucked in “snug as a bug in a rug!”

Holly Williams Racing has two beautiful OTT thoroughbreds looking for loving new homes.

- CHESTNUT GELDING (16.3hh, 5YO, 12 months off the track)
- BAY FILLY (15.2hh, 3YO, recently retired)

Both are retiring from racing and are available FREE to the very best of homes only. These horses have been part of our team and family, so finding kind, knowledgeable people is far more important than anything else.

They would suit life after racing in pleasure riding, pony club, companion homes, or a new career with the right education and patience.

We are looking for homes that can offer:
• Excellent care
• Safe fencing and facilities
• Horse experience
• Plenty of love, time, and attention

These horses have given us their all on the track. Now it’s our turn to make sure they land somewhere special.
