🖤 Vale Merv Larter 🖤

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Merv Larter.

Merv’s dedication extended far beyond his home club at Heathmont. As a devoted member of the Knox & District Softball Association, Merv served as a committee member, Umpiring Coordinator and mentor, groundskeeper, and media liaison—ensuring the weekly scores made it into the local paper.

Merv was a true jack of all trades and from Friday evening preparations to early morning Saturday set-ups thorough the final sunset pack-up at the end of the day, Merv and his white van were a welcome and familiar sight around Gilbert Park.

Having been awarded Life Membership of both Heathmont Softball Club and KDSA, Merv's commitment, generosity, and passion has left an enduring mark on countless players, officials, and families.

Our heartfelt condolences and love go to Joy and the entire Larter family during this difficult time.

Vale Merv Larter. You will be deeply missed, and never forgotten. ❤️🥎

🏆 Who's up for the World Masters Games 2027 in Japan? 🇯🇵🥎

We're exploring the possibility of sending one or more teams to compete at the World Masters Games in Japan next year – and we want to know who's interested!

📅 14–30 May 2027
📍 Kansai Region, Japan (including Osaka, Kyoto & Kobe)
👥 Eligible players: Aged 35+ (born on or before 31 December 1992)

Whether you're keen to play or would like to get involved as an official, we'd love to hear from you!
