🩡Three Generations of Netball 🩡

Following the NetSetGo season wrap-up, KNA felt this story deserved a post of its own.

One of the highlights of this Woolworths NetSetGO season was seeing the next generation coming through our program.

A special mention to Evie Martyn, who participated in NetSetGO this session. Twelve years ago, Evie’s mum, Erin Martyn (nΓ©e Lucas), assisted with the KNA NetSetGO program. Erin is also a former Kingston Blues TNL U19s and Opens player and continues to play women’s grade netball today.

KNA would also like to acknowledge Evie’s Nan, Tania Lucas, a KNA Life Member and long-serving committee member who supported both KNA and the NetSetGo program for many years.

Stories like this perfectly demonstrate the pathway and highlight the strength of our wonderful netball community. From volunteers and players to families who continue to give back.

Seeing three generations connected through our netball association and was something special to share.

🏐 KNA Woolworths NetSetGo – Season Wrap-Up 🏐

Monday, 1st June marked the final session of KNA’s Woolworths NetSetGo 8-week program, with 30 enthusiastic little participants taking to the court each week.

There were plenty of smiles, laughter and fun as our budding netballers developed the fundamental skills that begin their netball journey.

A huge thank you to our fantastic coordinator and KNA Life Member, Lisa Wheeldon, and her trusty offsider, Emma Wilson, for their dedication throughout the program. 🩡🩡

We would also like to acknowledge the regular helpers for this season Niamh Woolley, Milla King, Eliza Bessell, Ava Oakley, Gabi Kinder and Eva Warn, along with Emma Bolwell, Charlotte Bolwell and Isla Armstrong, who also stepped in to lend a hand during the season. KNA greatly appreciates you all giving up your time to support and encourage our youngest members.

The photo of Grace Kinder, Lisa Wheeldon and Ava Oakley alongside two of our current NetSetGo participants perfectly captures the NetSetGo pathway in action. Both Grace and Ava began their own netball journeys in Lisa’s NetSetGo and both have assisted Lisa with her NetSetGo sessions 🏐🩡

Ava is currently playing in Kingston Blues 15 Blue Div 1, while Grace is playing TNL 19u for Kingston Blues and has proudly represented Tasmania at both 15u & 17u level.

Their journeys are a wonderful example of where netball can take you, with many player’s pathway beginning with those very first NetSetGo sessions. 🏐🩡

September there will another Woolworths NetSetGo with more information being shared closer to the time.

KNA is looking to enter more teams in the southern carnivals:
🏐 STNA - Sunday 9 August
🏐 KNA - Saturday 17 October & Sunday 18 October

We are looking for:
πŸ”Ή11’s (dob 2015 & 2016 - mixed)
πŸ”Ή12’s (dob 2014 - mixed)
πŸ”Ή13’s (dob 2013 - mixed)
πŸ”Ή14’s (dob 2012)
πŸ”Ή15’s (dob 2011)
πŸ”Ή17’s (dob 2009 & 2010 - girls) players.

So if you couldn't travel to the northern carnivals but would love to join a team for our southern carnivals then we are looking for you!

Please note there will be no games on tomorrow Monday, 8 June, due to the public holiday.

KNA looks forward to seeing all teams back on Monday, 15 June for the Grade 5/6 Grand Final and the final round of the Winter Roster.

Grade 3/4
Final roster round only (no Grand Final).

Grade 5/6
πŸ† Grand Final: 5:00pm on Indoor Court 1.
Umpires will be provided for the Grand Final.

All other Grade 5/6 teams will play off for their final ladder placings.

KNA wishes all teams the very best for the final round and Grand Final! πŸ’™πŸ€πŸ©΅

Earlier this year we held our KNA Pre-Season Challenge 2026 β€” a fantastic day of netball and preparation for the season ahead.

Unfortunately, Tassal Huon Valley 11&U Green had headed home before presentations, so KNA was very pleased to catch up with coach Jessica Luciani and the team on Saturday at the STNA roster to celebrate their achievement.

KNA would not be where it is today without the dedication and support of the KNA Committee, along with the committees and volunteers from First National Real Estate Hobart & Kingston and Tigers Netball Club.

From School Rosters and NetSetGo programs, to Representative teams at Statewide carnivals and everything in between, our coaches, umpires, team managers, scorers, canteen helpers, parents and supporters all play an important role in making netball possible within our Kingborough community.

We’re excited to announce our partnership with Frosty Dog through the Frosty Dog X Junior Grassroots Sporting Club Program.

As part of this partnership, one player from each of our representative teams will be recognised each carnival and awarded a $10 Frosty Dog voucher.

Last Sunday, our KNA Representative teams travelled to the Devon Carnival for another fantastic day of netball, teamwork and competition. πŸ’™πŸ

A big thank you to Devon Netball Association for hosting a wonderful carnival and providing such a great experience for all players, coaches, umpires and families.

A very special congratulations to our KNA 13 Navy team and Coach Jo Gomer on taking out the 13 Div A Grand Final for the second carnival in a row β€” a fantastic achievement and something KNA is extremely proud of. πŸ‘πŸ₯‡πŸ’™πŸ€πŸ©΅

Thank you also to all our KNA coaches, umpires, parents and families for your ongoing support, travel time, encouragement from the sidelines throughout the day. Your commitment and support of our players is greatly appreciated.
