A Message from Director Tim Schleiger:
As the Sports Clinic of Football enters its third year, I want to share some exciting updates. After my experiences as a professional player and high-performance manager across Europe, the Middle East, and with Socceroos, A-League, NSL, and Premier League players, it has been rewarding to spend the past two and a half years developing Academy and NPL players here in Victoria.
Our goal is simple: help as many young players as possible transition into senior football. The key lesson I’ve learned from decades in the game is that standards and consistency drive development.
That’s why, in the coming weeks, each player will set up an individual program with myself, Shaq, or Rick through Team Builder, an app that provides tailored weekly training. These programs refresh every 8–10 weeks to ensure players are challenged and progressing, whether at the clinic, home, or a local gym.
Commitment is crucial. Between 17 and 20, players should aim for 100 senior matches. For younger players, this period builds strength, speed, and resilience while protecting against injury. To streamline processes, payments will now be collected upfront in the first two weeks of term. Missed sessions can be made up Mon–Fri, 5–8 pm, or Sat mornings.
We’re also introducing elite coaching led by players I’ve worked with at the highest level. For example, Scott Galloway will run small group sessions that bring lived professional experience. Technical morning sessions will also focus on positional detail and the finer aspects of the game to help players stand out.
Across my career, I’ve worked with more than 100 Socceroos and over 25 players in the Premier League, Serie A, and beyond. My vision is for the Sports Clinic of Football to set the benchmark for development in Australia, built on discipline, consistency, and commitment.
Together, we can create tomorrow’s senior footballers.
