Why do I call this coaching methodology SINGULARITY.
I resonate with two meanings of the word “singularity”.
The first one is somehow related to its meaning in mathematics and physics as an unexpected event which occurrence could not be foreseen and not to be repeated plus an event in which rules, methods and mathematical expectations collapse.
The second meaning is about the actual root of the word as being “singular” or special, unique and not to be repeated or somehow copied.
This is what my clients and I look for and co-create during my coaching sessions. We both participate in a client-led approach to discover the uniqueness, the specialness of the client.
The process of discovery occurs with gentle but solid invitations for the client to slow down and arrive at the present moment rich in stillness and silence. These two dimensions of the now allow both of us to make contact with inner realities which have been put aside or have been hidden because of the natural tendency to conform and to belong.
With this process-based discovery takes place also the creation of a path for self-actualisation in which the client’s uniqueness blossoms and comes to shine.
In a following post I will explore how our singularity can be reconciled with the human longing for togetherness, for acceptance and for conformity.
