Kingscliff Australia

Kingscliff Australia All Things Kingscliff For swimmers, the best spots are at kiddies’ corner, in the lee of the point and in front of the Cudgen Surf Club.

JUST over 10km from the Queensland border and lying at the southern tip of a sweeping 7km-plus beach stretching from Fingal Head, Kingscliff is a signature patch of the Tweed Coast. With a surf club at Cudgen about 800m from the point, and sheltered from southerlies, it is a family favourite, especially in school holidays when the masses from NSW and Queensland flock there. Cudgen Creek, which ope

ns at a shallow mouth near the surf club, is also a perfect spot for young children to swim, snorkel and paddle. For boardriders, the most consistent surfing spot is in front of the Kingscliff Beach Club, while the point works in big southerly swells. Around the headland there is a patchy reef that can be terrific for snorkelling and spearfishing in calm conditions. At the northern end of the beach, toward Fingal Head, is an off-leash area for dogs.
