Have you ever noticed how differently the world feels depending on your mood?
When you're stressed and depleted, everything feels like too much. When you feel calm and grounded, anything seems possible. For a long time, I thought that was just luck β you wake up how you wake up and you get on with it.
That thinking, and the coping mechanisms that came with it, took me to some difficult places. Burnout. Alcohol dependency. Early menopause. Not where I expected to be.
Yoga found me just when I needed it most. What started as a physical release β something gentler than wine and more manageable around my young children β gradually became something much deeper. Over ten years of practice, I've come to understand that with the right yoga at the right time, I genuinely get to shape how I feel. My mood, my energy, my mind, my body β all of it is something I can support and influence.
It doesn't happen overnight. But the more you prioritise yourself with time to practice, the more yoga gives back.
If you're curious about what a consistent yoga practice could do for your life, I'd love to welcome you to one of my classes.
Come as you are β wherever you are. With over 3 years of Yoga Therapy training, I design my classes to be inclusive of all abilities to leave you feeling calm and ready to interact with your life from a new perspective.
This Sunday β Restorative Yoga at Wagstaffe Hall, 3:30pm. Two hours of deep rest: supported poses, calmed nerves, quieted mind. We close with Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation that works at the deepest layer of your consciousness to support the changes you're seeking.
Come as you are. Stay for tea.
