Once we learn the skills of autoregulation, we can begin to trust ourselves to workout at the intensity we need on any given day.

'Listen to your body' is great advice, however many of us were never taught how. Start with these questions 👇

1) have I eaten anything today?
2) what are my stress levels like today?
3) have I had any water?
4) how much energy do I have?
5) what was my sleep like?
6) How do I feel overall?

This is a quick way to check in with your body and see what might be supportive for you today. It might be going hard or it might be adapting to accommodate real life fluctuations.

Start with this, are you keen for the next steps?

Let's see, if I say the word 'exercise' what is the first feeling you get in your gut? Stay with that, why do you think ...

Let's see, if I say the word 'exercise' what is the first feeling you get in your gut?

Stay with that, why do you think that's your bodies response?

Somewhere along the way, movement may have stopped feeling like support for you and started feeling like a chore.

We've forgotten (as a society) that exercise & movement was never meant to add stress or be used as a measuring stick for how 'good' you are.

I wonder if it's time to rebuild your relationship with movement?

If exercise was to support the woman you are today, what could that look like for you?

At 28, for the first time in my life, I had an anxiety breakdown.

I was overwhelmed by everything.

I didn't understand my thoughts.

I was disorientated within a world I had created and loved deeply.

I was no longer tethered to who I thought I was, what I believed to be true or most of the solid foundations that had existed for me forever.

When I found the courage to speak and allow a crack of light to shine on the parts I thought were my darkest - I found people who loved me (shoutout to my hubs who was there every moment), professional help and EXERCISE.

I started walking, then running, then strength training - outside in the fresh air and in my lounge room when I needed shelter.

It gave me the ability to be present and feel free, it helped me feel my heart beating and air entering my lungs. It cleared enough space in my mind to rest - initially for moments at a time and eventually for minutes and hours.

It is this very experience that led me to become a Personal Trainer and step away from a corporate career. I felt like I'd found a secret that nobody was talking about and I wanted to share it with other women who are looking for tools to support themselves.

The impact exercise had on me was so profound and truthfully, it's been one of the biggest support tools I've had ever since. (More on that another time.)

Look, programming is a beautiful mix of creativity and science. But when it comes to the next on trend session, sticking with a good progressive program over time is going to be much more helpful for you over the long term.

- Build foundations & movement patterns.
- Build intensity.
- Apply yourself & challenge yourself regularly enough.
- Express your fitness and strength in the ways you want to 🙌
- Give yourself grace, because simple doesn't mean easy 😘

Repeat after me...

All behaviour exists for a reason.

The next question then becomes...

"How is this serving me"

Share below 👇 or DM me with the behaviour and how it's serving you and let's chat.

I promise this is nothing against fake tan, holiday wardrobes or planning cute outfits at all.

I love it all...

And when it gets to come from a place of joy, deep care and true personal expression rather than shame or fear, that's when it feels like freedom.

Two questions:

Have you found a place with your body that feels more neutral than negative?

What would it mean to you to experience that feeling?

Let's chat, DM me or share below.

If you've ever been overwhelmed with the idea of starting something new because it's felt too big.

I wonder if part of it is because you believe you have to do ALL the things or NONE of it counts?

This is all or nothing thinking and it can stop us from taking any action at all. I get it, you strive for being good and perfect and want to do all the steps exactly as you think they should be done but that isn't serving you. (I know this because I experience this too.)

But what if - you could start something.
What if you could take one action.
What if you could re-imagine the stories that tell you small actions don't count?

What if you played in the grey area a little more and allowed yourself to learn that even small actions compounded over time MATTER and can take you toward who you want to be and how you want to feel?

Standards are great, unless they become the very thing we use to beat ourselves up with.

I don't think it's just me, have you found yourself doing this?

You ready? Ok let's go...

1. I relax by watching reality TV 🙈

2. I drink a mountain of peppermint tea

3. We did the Inca trail for our honeymoon, it was beautiful and epic all the things AND I also got my period on day one of a 4 day hike - I whinged a lot each night.

4. I really love the colour pink and spent most of my late teens / early twenties denying it because I thought it meant something bad about the "type of girl I was" 🤯. Wild.

5. Moving across the country rattled my sense of self and identity, the surprising journey of figuring that out has been tumultuous to say the least.

It's time to embrace all the parts of who we are, I love that you're here. Appreciate you x
