Disclaimer: We do not practice mandatory belt gauntlet ceremonies. Aaron asked if he could walk the gauntlet, which we agreed to.

The gauntlet is an old tradition for belt promotions where the practitioner walks up and down while their teammates give them a light belt tap on the back.

We do not practice this at all for anyone under 18 years old.

Thank you for the endless love, the quiet sacrifices, the strength behind closed doors, and the support you give without ever asking for recognition. Thank you for being our first teachers in life — teaching us kindness, resilience, respect, and how to keep moving forward even during hard times.

Behind every strong child is someone who believed in them first.
Behind every lesson in life was a mother’s guidance, patience, and care.

Today is more than flowers and gifts. It’s a reminder to appreciate the women who hold families together, who lift others when they are tired themselves, and who continue to show up every single day with love.
