BREAKING NEWS: Maxxis launch new higher-performance MaxxTerra rubber compound across all models!
That’s right, but with such a big new release from the MTB world’s #1 tyre brand we understand the internet is going to go into melt down with coverage of the new rubber over the coming days, so we’ve only cooked up a quick ‘first impressions’ piece to get your taste buds going today… stay tuned though because next week we’re going to hit you with all of our trail notes from having been exclusively testing a handful of different models of the new MaxxTerra range over the past few months.
For now here’s the key details you need to know, and don’t forget these bad boys have already been shipped and are waiting for you instore at your local Australian Maxxis dealer right now!
- Taking over from the MaxxTerra 3C compound the ‘new’ MaxxTerra boasts a whopping 30% increase in overall durability. This includes improved; overall tyre wear, puncture resistance and crack resistance.
- The new rubber compound also claims 15% more grip (a figure that we can personally attest to, in fact we reckon it feels way grippier than 15% over the previous ‘gen MaxxTerra) which encompasses; greater general trail traction, better cornering bite and lower rolling resistance meaning you’ll be gliding across sections faster albeit whilst staying nicely planted and ready to jam on the brakes or change direction, etc. Rad!
- The new MaxxTerra rubber compound will be rolled out ( ) across all current MaxxTerra models in phases, however the good news is that at time of launch, today, when you’re reading this, Aussie Maxxis dealers will already have plenty of stock of the following models and pricing starts at $99.95 a piece: Assegai, Dissector, Minion DHR Minion DHF, Forekaster.
