Our big mare Khalida, has started her new life as an eventer, she's moved to much greener pastures near Perth. Hopefully she likes popping over a few jumps!

We'll keep you updated as her new career unfolds.

Boab Boy came home strong with Brayden Gaerth in the saddle to win the 1200 metre handicap at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Racing Club Inc

What a great day for Smith Racing, the Rotary Club of Boulder, Lakes Electrical, Brayden Gaerth, and Boab Boy's owners, Robbie and Jeremy Johnson.

𝙋𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙋𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝘿𝙖𝙮 𝙍𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨

Smith Racing have a handy team ready for the Peter Palmer Memorial Day Races on the 10th May, 2026.

Race 1 sees Quiet Goddess, the big striding filly challenge the 1400 m maiden, alongside stable buddy, Lanta. Race 2 the maiden stable mates, Jekyll Island, Amira Girl and Accoustic Bubbles tackle the 1200 m. Race 6, old rivals Sure Thing and Boab Boy battle out the 70+ 1200 m.

Gates open at 12pm, pop on down and enjoy the free jumping castle and face painting, and a great afternoon of local horse racing.

This little filly is Extronize, she's been a long time in the making for her owners and breeders, who also owned her dam, Excaro.

Excaro raced for Smith Racing here in Kalgoorlie with 7 career wins.

Extronize has been down in Bunbury being broken in, and prepped, she's ready to trial on Monday next week.

Early mornings are back to be the norm for Smith Racing, we've currently got four old favourites in the stable, with two newbies due to arrive soon from over East.

The first race meeting for the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Racing Club Inc is the 3rd of April.

Check out Jekyll Island in the lunge ring, he means business, and he's keen to start his prep.
