If you struggle with inconsistent ball striking, shots starting off target, or a club face that feels impossible to control, your lead wrist position could be a major reason why.

In this video, PGA coach Kerrod Gray explains why the golf ball only cares about your club face at impact, and how your lead wrist position plays a huge role in controlling it. You’ll learn the difference between a cupped, bowed, and flat lead wrist, plus a simple feedback-based drill to help you square the club face, improve ball striking, and hit straighter golf shots more consistently.

Comment FLUSH and I’ll send you the best ball striking drills you have never tried👇 Most golfers treat the backswing and downswing as two separate moves. Wind up fully, then start down. But a powerful golf swing is one continuous motion, not two. Before your chest finishes turning back, you should have already started to shift your pressure towards your front foot. ✅ The turn back and the shift forward overlap, they don’t happen one after the other ✅ Pressure should already be moving into your lead foot before the top of the backswing ✅ Keep your arms in front of your chest so the club has room to drop into the slot This overlap is what creates effortless power and a smooth transition into the downswing. 📌 Save this for your next range session

Most golfers think a powerful swing comes from pulling with their arms and hands. That’s why you’re stuck hitting weak shots that spray left and right.

Here’s a drill that will transform your takeaway and unlock real power:

1. Take your lead hand off the club completely - let yourself feel how heavy the club becomes. This is eye-opening for most students.
2. Place that free hand on your right upper arm. Now start your takeaway focusing ONLY on rotating your upper body away from the target. Let the back of your trail wrist naturally hinge.
3. Feel how the club becomes supported and balanced once you’ve hinged properly. This is what we want.
4. Return your lead hand to the club. Notice how much wider and more stable everything feels. This is your new normal.

When you do this right, you’ll create true lag and compression - the holy grail of consistent ball-striking. No more fake power from yanking with your arms.

PS. ➡️ if you want me to give you a free analysis comment the word ‘PERFORM’ and I will send you the link

I see it in almost every lesson - students trying to manually create lag by yanking their arms and hands.

That tension you’re feeling? It’s killing your power and accuracy.

1. Start with half-speed swings at hip height. Focus on letting your trail wrist relax but holding the golf club securely.
2. Feel the clubhead’s weight on the backswing. Don’t force it, just let it naturally load.
3. As you start your downswing, allow the club-head weight to naturally let your back wrist flex.
4. Release any tension in your arms. Trust the natural whipping motion that occurs when you get out of your own way.

You’ll be amazed how much more power you generate when you stop forcing it and let your body’s natural mechanics take over.

Comment ‘CRUSH’ to unlock your hidden power add 10+ yards instantly

Sometimes what feels “right” is killing your power.

The secret is understanding the natural flow between front bend and side bend:

1. At setup, your chest should face down and forward.
2. During the backswing, you replace front bend with side bend.
3. As you transition, get back into that front bend.
4. Through impact, let your body respond naturally. You’ll feel more stable and powerful.
5. Check yourself on video - If it’s bobbing up at impact you need to work on this.

Comment ‘PERFORM’ if you’ve been trying to copy Hogan’s elbow move but your shots are getting worse

That elbow-in move you’re copying from Hogan’s illustrations? It’s killing your impact position and costing you yards.

Listen - I’ve watched hundreds of students destroy their swing trying to “drag the elbow in.” Those old illustrations got it wrong, and now you’re creating fake lag that’s destroying your natural motion.

1. Stop forcing that elbow into your body. Instead, let your arms fall naturally as you start down.
2. Check your lead shoulder height when the club is level with ground in the downswing. Your lead shoulder should stay relatively level, not rise up 📏
3. Make slow motion swings. Feel your back arm get longer in the downswing - not that you’re driving it into your body

Comment ‘PLAN’ and I’ll send you the 60-minute practice routine that’s helped 1,000s of golfers break through plateaus.

🧠 DRILL 1: TARGET MASTERY • Choose ONE target • Hit 10 balls (accuracy distance) • Count any inside 20 yards • Try to beat your last score

🎯 DRILL 2: TEMPO CONTROL • Use your 7-iron • 5 shots @ 50%, 5 @ 75%, 5 @ 100% • Match tempo across all speeds

💥 DRILL 3: LOW POINT STRIKE • Place alignment stick 4–6” behind the ball • 15 reps with ball-first contact only • Goal = avoid the stick + take crisp divots

🚨 WHY IT WORKS: Most amateurs practice randomly. Pros train with precision.
These 3 drills sharpen: • Target awareness • Swing tempo • Strike consistency

📈 PRO TIP: Track your numbers. What you measure, improves.

Comment “FLUSH” for the drills that added 15+ yards and ended my weak slice FOREVER.

POV: You’re swinging hard… but the ball still fades short and right.
That was me—until I found this.

THE REAL PROBLEM: ❌ Back foot spins out ❌ Pressure leaks sideways ❌ Club goes over the top ❌ Weak, glancing contact

THE FIX: The Bowler Drill 1️⃣ Slider under back foot 2️⃣ Feel it move behind front foot 3️⃣ Pressure shifts to front foot 4️⃣ Club shallows without thinking

WHY IT WORKS: ✅ Forces proper pressure sequence ✅ Stops early rotation dead ✅ Promotes an effortless inside path

💥 The test: If your foot moves back—you’re flushing it. If it moves out—you’re leaking power.

Want it? Drop “FLUSH” below and I’ll send you more drills just like this.

Comment TRANSFORM and get access to the best drills you’ve never tried👇 Most golfers focus on rotating in the backswing. But without side bend, that rotation works against you. Here’s what’s going wrong: ✅ No side bend in the backswing causes your upper body to shift away from the target ✅ That shifts your low point too far behind the ball ✅ The result is heavy, thin, or inconsistent contact It’s not about rotating more. It’s about coiling correctly. 📩 Send this to someone who keeps hitting it fat and can’t figure out why

Comment “SHALLOW” and I’ll DM you drills to fix your steep downswing 🎯

Still struggling with that over-the-top move?
That steep shaft angle is stealing your power and killing your consistency.
But here’s the truth: 👉 The club wants to shallow on its own — if you stop forcing it.

Try this: ✅ Takeaway with just your lead hand ✅ Stop at lead arm parallel ✅ Let the downswing start and feel the club fall behind you

Here’s what happens next: ⚪ The shaft shallows automatically ⚪ Lower body rotates on time ⚪ The club falls into slot without manipulation

When you get this right, it feels effortless.
No more fighting the club. No more guesswork. Just pure, natural power.

Want to learn the full drill? Comment “SHALLOW” and I’ll send more to you now.
