Hi all followers, Its been a, not ideal start back in the race seat after a 19mth stint on the side-lines. We are still trying to sort out all the issues that pop up with a new build. We have had quite a few, so far! Its a little frustrating , but we will eventually get this Monaro sorted out, so we can be competitive.
We got the car out for the first time at Wangaratta on the 29/11.
Have to admit i was quite nervous about getting back in the seat for the first time since my roll over at Alexandra. I did take it easy in my first heat just to feel the car out, and adding to that it fuelled up off the start and had a bit of miss. Finished the heat in 8th
Second heat was the same of the start, with the miss a lot worse, decided to keep going, probably hoping it would get better, but definitely felt more comfortable in car going around that the first heat, and still got home in 4th.
After the heat Tommy Duck pointed out that front right didn't look right, so had a look to discover that strut bolt had come loose and ball joint was about to fall out, not ideal!! we didn't have spares to sort nor anyone else to help in pits. The miss was a cracked spark plug. So after 2 heats parked up for the night.
Alexandra last night 6/12, Well after the rain delaying the start of the night i wasn't drawn to come out till the second heat which wasn't until after 8pm after arriving at the track at 1130am😌 Felt like and eternity and i was honestly over the whole day already after getting some sad news about someone close to me and my wife.
I drew pole for my first run at Alex since my roll over, which did play in my mind a bit for the first few laps.
Well , Managed to creep home in 5th but with continuing issues that repeated from Wangaratta, fuelling up, spark plug lead coming off, car was skating over the top, no bite and no front brakes which i had to get out of throttle early at turn 3 to avoid washing up to the fence as many cars found last night .I was not comfortable at all in the car last night and with no front brakes that we couldn't fix at track, was disappointed to only do 1 heat for the night, we will make some more changes and hopefully shake these issues and have a better run at Wahgunyah on 27/12 . I would like to thank my sponsors for your support. We will get there soon and hopefully get back up there and win some races,
