Led by Luke Godden - long‑term Yarrambat coach, life member, sponsor, and all‑round icon of the local footy community - the Godden name needs no introduction around Yarrambat. Luke coached many of our current Colts boys right from their first footy steps back in 2016 at Under 9s, and he still follows their journey every week through the live scores. That’s loyalty, that’s care, and that’s exactly the kind of connection we value at the Bridge.

A proud 4 quarter effort by our young skipper.
Playing more of a defensive midfield role on the day, he was always going to have his hands full against the reigning 4-time premiers. The kind of player willing to do the things that don't always appear on the stat sheet, hand on his opponent all day, applying pressure, blocking at stoppages and sacrificing his own game for the team.

With ball in hand he still found ways to drive us forward despite our inability to capitalise on entries. Even with his side against the ropes, he continued to give us everything and more.
A lot of inspiration can be drawn from a captain willing to do whatever he can for his team. We've been big fans of his work rate and attitude from day 1.

He brings energy, intent and competitiveness every week, and sets a standard his teammates can follow. When the game gets tough, he's the type that keeps turning up and dragging the rest along with him.

For our Resilient Recovery Senior Best on Ground each week, they will receive a free recovery session of their choosing.

Round 8 Squads

Our Colts look to continue their streak with an interesting standalone fixture against Montmorency at BFO in the morning. With some late changes, they'll be bolstered by the inclusions of products Jacko Caddy, Andy Sevas and Zak Marasco. With both meetings between the sides ending in draws last season, we'll be looking to break the deadlock and start the day the right way.

The Development Squad comes in with a bit of a facelift after a weekend to forget. Returning to the side are experienced campaigners Jack Smith, Darcy Stewart, Wade Lowrie and Connor Fyffe. We'll also see veteran utility Jack Wilson feature in his first game of the season, while fellow midfield pair Ben Hodgson and Archie Dwyer are set to feature adding some extra firepower against the reigning premiers.

The funny thing about football is that a lot can change in 7 days, depending on how you look at it. The Grand Final rematch sees us return having learned and grown from every experience since. We welcome back dad duo Cooper Perrin and Luke Collins to add some maturity to the line-up, alongside young ruck Jack Christian. Making his senior debut for the club, Nathan Louw gets his opportunity after some fantastic lunchtime football, while Colts gun Mason Di Biase returns as our 23rd man in similar fashion to last season. Even through adversity, we continue to grow as a program and embrace every challenge that comes our way.

Our Senior Women head to Darebin on Sunday looking to return to the winners' list. There's plenty to like about this group, and we're seeing their resilience strengthen with every game. We welcome back Jemma Buckingham and Jas Sellman, 2 vital pieces who add so much to the side. As this new-look group continues to find its feet, we're confident their best football isn't far away.

The first Colts full-back in recent memory to take out the coveted award.
The Sarge has been patrolling down back all year and now reaps the reward for his efforts. Newly promoted Vice-Captain, he's been communicative, passionate and proud in the way he represents the colours. A mature head who organises the backline with authority, reflected in the undefeated record they currently hold.
His ability to read the play, direct traffic and consistently put himself in the right position for countless standing marks has made him a cornerstone of the side.

Rarely beaten in a one-on-one contest, he gives the group confidence knowing he's behind the footy. His willingness to lead with actions as much as words has helped set the standard for the entire defensive unit.
Week after week he turns up, competes and does the team-first things that don't always appear on the stat sheet.
His first Best on Ground for the club, and a thoroughly deserved one at that.
We love to see it.
