Our next wave of Colts commits

Welcoming home 6ft6 Knights-listed ruck/forward Digby Squirrell, a former Hurstbridge Junior who has spent the past few seasons honing his craft with YJFC, Ivanhoe and Northern.
With an explosive leap and fantastic hands, Digby is an exciting young prospect and certainly one to keep an eye on as he continues to develop through the pathways.
Diggers made his Talent League debut against the Western Jets in Round 4 and will line up for the Bridge when available.
We’re excited to see what the next chapter looks like back where it all began.

Defender Zach Barnes will join his brothers in H-Town, the youngest but now the tallest of the 3.
Whilst enduring his final year of Juniors, Zach also featured in the navy & gold on multiple occasions through the 19s and Development sides, showcasing his imposing 6ft4 frame and ability to compete at senior level.
As astute about his footy as you could imagine a Barnes to be, Zach brings plenty of potential and a strong football IQ to our program.

Pacey defender Jye Saw combines elite speed and athletic ability with clean skills and excellent decision-making. He reads the game exceptionally well and has developed into an elite one-on-one defender capable of playing on and beating quality forwards. Tough and competitive, Jye is strong aerially, never backs down from a contest and can dominate in the air. His combination of speed, skill, decision-making and defensive ability gives him the potential to influence and dominate games from defence.

Emerging mid/forward Lucas Rizio is ready to take the next step in 2027.
A tough in-and-under type, Riz can win his own footy, become the connection piece on the overlap and hit the scoreboard when pushed forward.
Despite an injury-managed season, Riz featured in 7 games, with his best performance coming in R11 against West - a 4-goal masterclass.
With a full preseason under his belt and a bit of luck with the body, we’re expecting Riz to make a big impact in 2027.

HFNC are stoked to announce the re-signing of dynamic utility Mitch Wild for the 2027 season.

Since arriving at the Bridge, Mitch has become one of the most valuable and adaptable players in our program - capable of impacting games across half-back, the wing and through the midfield.

At his best, there aren’t many players quite like him. A rare combination of pace, height and agility, Mitch can cover the ground, change direction at will and give us genuine drive in transition. His sharp skills and strong hands allow him to be trusted with the ball, while his ability to find another gear makes him a dangerous option whenever he gets into space.

His move behind the ball has added another layer to his game. From half-back, Mitch has developed into a damaging rebound player, using his speed and instincts to turn defence into attack. He can then push higher up the ground and provide that same x-factor on the wing, or roll through the midfield when required.

2026 saw Mitch feature in 15 games, adding another 3 goals and earning votes in 3 games as he continued to play an important role for the senior side.

His best came in R12 against Greensborough, where he put together one of his most complete performances of the season - collecting 23 possessions, including 9 contested, along with 6 intercepts and 8 marks.
It was another reminder of just how much Mitch can influence a game when he gets rolling.

Mitchy is not only an important footballer for our program, but a quality bloke who has become a huge part of the Hurstbridge family.
The Wild mob have left their mark on this club, and we’re thrilled Mitch and his brothers will continue the journey with us into 2027.

Having also ticked over 100 senior games this year - a bloody good effort that deserves plenty of recognition.

HFNC are stoked to announce the re-signing of emerging midfield talent Billy Loustas for the 2027 season

After making his Men's football debut in 2023, and collecting a game here or here - Billy took another significant step forward in 2026, perfectly splitting his season between Development and Senior football.

The former Colts Captain featured in 8 Development games, collecting votes in 6 and finishing with 4 goals, before making the jump into the Senior side for another 8 games.

He continued to make an impact at the higher level, collecting votes in 2 Senior games and adding another goal to his tally.

When healthy, Billy would have to be one of the most agile players on our list. His ability to explode from congestion, change direction and create separation makes him incredibly difficult to contain, while his clearance craft and football IQ allow him to turn that agility into genuine impact around the contest.

2026 was another important step in Billy's development, and we're looking forward to seeing what he can produce in 2027

HFNC are so excited to announce that Charli Long has re-committed to the Bridge for 2027!

After spending 2025 as an assistant coach with Yarrambat’s premiership-winning U18 side, Charli made the move into senior football this year and has been every bit as reliable as we could have hoped.

Often the last line of defence, Longy has a knack for staying composed when the pressure is at its highest. She’s a no-nonsense defender who doesn’t overcomplicate things, gets the job done and can always be relied upon to put herself in the right spot when her teammates need her.

Just as importantly, Charli is the type of teammate who is always there to support those around her, both on and off the field.

After such a significant year for our Senior Women’s program, we’re incredibly excited to have Longy continuing to be part of what we’re building at the Bridge.

HFNC are thrilled report the re-signing of hybrid forward Isaac Jones for 2027!

A powerful and decisive forward who can hit the scoreboard at will, win his own ball and make an impact when the game is there to be won. While predominantly playing forward, he has the ability to push through the midfield when required, or roll back and intercept to help his team defensively.

He made his U19 debut in R2 in 2025 at Bundoora, taking some promising marks and slotting a goal, before earning his stripes with his senior debut in R16.
He would go on to win the Club Best & Fairest and finish 6th in the League count that year.

In 2026, he continued to develop, playing 12 Colts games and finishing with 27 goals, including bags of 4 in R6 and R18, while collecting votes in 4 games. He is sitting equal 5th in the Colts voting with 2 rounds remaining - not bad for a still 17-year old.

He also stepped up into senior football again this season collecting 6 games from R12-R17, finishing with 6 goals. Showing he is more than capable at the level.

Another young gun continuing his journey in H-Town.
We can't wait to see what 2027 brings.

Our first Senior Men’s recruit of the post-season.

HFNC are excited to welcome forward/midfielder Mischa Fraillon to H-Town for the 2027 season.

Mischa joins us from Inglewood, where he was the club’s leading goal scorer in 2026, finishing with 40 goals from 18 games and collecting votes in 6 games throughout the season.

Already boasting 60+ senior games as a 19-year-old across Kew, West Preston-Lakeside and Inglewood, Mischa has gained valuable senior experience from a young age.

He made his senior debut with West Preston-Lakeside at just 16, after previously playing senior football with Kew at 15. We might remember him from his time at West, where he played a pivotal lockdown role on our then star Will Cookson at JE Moore Park.

Along the way, Mischa has also gained valuable exposure to the Coates League and VFL pathways, adding further experience to his development. This pre-season, he’ll head down to Casey Demons as a train-on, looking to earn his spot on their VFL list.

A dynamic player capable of impacting games both forward and through the midfield - on offence or defence, Mischa brings plenty of senior experience despite his young age, along with plenty of flexibility and firepower when he gets within range.

An energetic young bloke with plenty of upside, pace, a strong work rate and a real nouse for goal, Mischa adds another dangerous dimension to our forward mix while also giving us plenty of versatility through the midfield.
Mischa will look to set the tone throughout pre-season as he settles into his new home.

Further strengthening our bond with our partners, Yarrambat Junior Football Club, we’re thrilled to welcome 4 more talented young footballers to H-Town for 2027.

GEORGIA GRAHAM
A standard-setting utility player - versatile, hard-nosed and fiercely competitive. Georgia brings a physical edge, elite work in and under and a willingness to put her body on the line to win the hard ball. Her team-first mentality and coachability lift those around her. A 2026 U18 Premiership player, Georgia arrives with championship pedigree and plenty of upside.

MADDIE BALL
An absolute powerhouse down back, Maddie is a dominant lock-down defender and fantastic young leader. Despite just 4 seasons in the game, her reading of the play and composure are well beyond her years. She captained Yarrambat’s 2026 premiership side and claimed back-to-back Best & Fairest awards in 2025 and 2026. She can shut down forwards, clean up under pressure and provide drive through the middle, while her ability to win her own ball adds another dimension.

IZZY ANNAMAKI
A pure competitive beast who plays well above her size. Izzy brings elite fitness, relentless pressure and a completely team-first mentality. Equally capable through the midfield or forward, she can run all day, break lines and outwork opponents, while providing serious pressure inside 50. A key member of Yarrambat’s 2025 and 2026 U18 premiership sides, Izzy brings a relentless work ethic and selfless attitude.

EMILY “EMJ” JOHNSON
A high-impact competitor with immaculate skills and a natural ability to read the play. EmJ can impact games from half-back, through the midfield or forward, where she added another dangerous dimension this season. A 2025 and 2026 U18 Premiership player, she also gained valuable senior experience with Hurstbridge this year.

Our next wave of Colts commits

The final piece of the Wild boys puzzle has arrived in H-Town.
We welcome Max Slattery.
Now the tallest of the brothers, Max is a lengthy winger with an elite motor, plenty of pace & the ability to impact games.
Max featured in 15 games for Ybat this season, finishing with 6 goals & collecting votes in 5 games, including the ANZAC Day Medal.
He also made his Colts debut in R12, kicking a goal in his first game at the level.
We can't wait for the day all 4 Wild boys take the field together.

The ultimate utility - Jordy Giamarelos
At 190cm, Jordy is a crafty tap ruckman who’s as clean below his knees as any tall going around, with the skills to deliver the footy like a midfielder.
Whether it’s leading up forward, taking a grab or intercepting down back, Jordy’s versatility allows him to impact games from any line.
An emerging key with all the attributes you could ask for - and more importantly, one of footy’s great guys.
Jordan featured in 15 games this season, collecting votes in 7 games and booting 9 goals.
Also made his Colts debut in R12.

Another versatile key, we welcome Tom Webb.
Another great-sized prospect with the ability to impact from all lines. Athletic enough to play tall, but fast and strong enough to create havoc against anyone.
With absolute buckets for hands, Tom’s contested marking and ability to take an athletic spoil are something to admire - traits that have drawn comparisons to Jake Richards.
Tom featured in 13 games for Ybat this season, kicking 12 goals & collecting votes in 9 games.
He also featured for Springvale Districts in the SFNL in Round 9, collecting votes in his senior debut.

Welcoming Knights-listed Toby Jeffs - a 6ft4 athletic key who has already shown he can impact games at either end of the ground. Strong overhead, clean with ball in hand and possessing all the attributes to compete with players of all sizes, Toby is legit.
He has already made his mark at Talent League level, including a standout 6-goal game this season.
His ability to play forward or back, combined with his size and athleticism, gives us another exciting option across the ground.
