Stig Stover Coaching

Stig Stover Coaching My Coaching is designed to support your individual Needs and Wants. I dedicate myself to coaching you along this essential process!

I will work with you to establish clarity around where you are at right now, and where you want to be in the future. I acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which I work and live. I respect their ongoing custodianship of the land. I pay my respects to the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and Elders past and present. I was born in 1963 in the North of Norway, Holmstad Sortland
I moved to Hob

art Tasmania in 2007, and I now work and live in Howden Kingborough with my wife Anna. I have two daughters from my first marriage (Cathrine 1991 and Ida 1999), and two stepsons via Anna (Will 1998 and Toby 2001)

I have a Batchelor of Engineering, Control Science / Process Automation, and have worked for Nutreco/Skretting for over 27 years. 10 years in Norway and 17 years in Tasmania/Australia. I am a highly experienced Problem solver, manager and leader. I am experienced working in multicultural environments and bring all my experience across to my Coaching work. I am a cancer survivor and have experienced significant life trauma, enabling me to be very present to your experiences and challenges. Since almost 10 years I have been heavily engaged with an amazing environment of men that are active in supporting boys and men and their Health and Wellbeing, physical as well a mental. Learning how to engage and establish a safe non-judgemental environment has been profound and powerful. I pay tribute to my coaches and mentors within Tasmen Health and Wellbeing Association as well as Men's Resources Tasmania

I work across the three main tenants of personal and group existence:
- what we Know
- what we Do
- who we are Being

Most will acknowledge that in our lives we are making substantial efforts building Knowledge (Education), developing the skills to utilize this knowledge (Organize / Structure) BUT not much time and awareness assigned to looking after ourselves on a personal level. I assert that this is the main reason for so much stress and suffering, which in turn will also start to impact those around us (Family, Friends and Work)

I work both face to face and online. My client is English speaking or Norwegian speaking. I am very passionate about working with men and especially men in leadership, however any person who is interested in Personal Development Work can be my client.

A wonderful break in the weather across North West Bay.

G’Day all.
What a theme to explore on todays walk - Imposter Syndrome…

This may well be the single most frequent aspect that my clients are referencing, when feeling safe and confident in sharing ‘‘what is going on for them’’ - especially within management and leadership settings.

I feel it is safe to propose that the typical drivers behind us experiencing this phenomenon, are all old and goes back into various exposures to feedbacks and criticisms adding to our 'internal story about ourselves'.

In turn this often leads to a tendency to only look for ‘evidence’ that we are not good enough, and feeling a sense of shame and stress…

When this feeling keeps building (subconsciously) we forget to celebrate our achievements and successes, or at least suppressing these as they surely must be ‘random or not deserved’.

There are a few key characteristics which are linked to the topic like:

Dawn at Kingston Beach, getting ready to get in.

Today I am reflecting on The Unknown...

What thoughts and feelings are surfacing for you when trying to work out what the future will bring?

On a scale from excited or deeply comfortable with facing the unknown - to very worried and uncomfortable about any lack of certainty, where are you positioning yourself?

Behind any rating in this space will be everything from naivety, lived experience, significant challenges and commitments, a deep need for feeling safe and secure and so on.

There is no right, and there is no wrong - any rating is valid and very common.

One thing that is clear and undisputable is that ultimately the concept of Certainty in life is and has always been somewhat of an illusion…!

The Hidden Strain of Leadership

Congrats on stepping into leadership — you’ve earned it. But even when things “should” be running well, many leaders feel stuck, frustrated, or unsure.

Are you eating and sleeping well?
Do you trust your team, do you ever end up micro managing?
Can you speak openly about challenges?
Do you have someone who helps you think clearly when things get heavy?

If any of the above feels familiar, or if you know someone who’s finding it rough, send me a message.
We can have a short, informal chat to see if I’m a good fit to help.

Healing doesn’t have to be magic thinking or clinical medicine only — it can be both.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what “healing” really means to me. For some people it’s woo-woo; for others it’s pure medicine. For me it’s in the middle.

I recently had a melanoma removed, and I’m deliberately balancing the clinical care I need with things I do to activate my mind and body’s healing.
I’m grateful for my coaches, mentors, and life lessons that help me now that I need this for myself.

My goal is simple: to mobilize my own capacity to heal, restore, and build resilience so I can lower future risk. Western culture often tells us to leave health to the experts and discount anything that’s not scientifically proven.
I’ve found that working with a coach to access inner balance and self-support can be transformative and Healing.

If you want to chat about this — for yourself or someone you love — send me a message. I’m happy to talk.

Send me a direct message, check out my blogs or comment below and I’ll get back to you.

Cancer - what happened next?
Dear family, friends and connections. This is a post following up on my post 26th of April.

First of all, my deepest and most sincere gratitude to all those of you who responded and sent me greetings and wishing me well. The main intention behind the post was to share and draw the attention to the importance of getting checked for at least the most common and accessible screening types.

Apart from regular check in with GP, I am thinking about a range of cancer screening options for both men and women.
I am celebrating my ‘luck’ in having achieved early detection of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (12 years ago) and now Stage Zero Melanoma.
Early detection is totally essential when it comes to prognosis and treatment strategies, we have all heard this over and over again.
Today I am celebrating a truly heartwarming number of friends and connections who has got back to me and let me know that my sharing has made them take action to get tested - it makes it all worth it!!
Well Done All.
All the best with your processes and outcomes, so important for yourself as well as those around you!

Cancer? - Not again...?

Today I want to share that this week I was prompted to revisit a part of my life that was extremely challenging and put me those around me to the ultimate test.
12 years ago I was treated and won a battle against non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. A life changing experience!
Discovered by taking on the invitation in the mail to sample and send in a bowel cancer test (now available for free in AU from 45 years of age!).
Without that step I know I would not be here today, the cancer was very aggressive and was picked up at the last treatable time!
All good for 12 years, until this week….
