Next week in Hobart an encore screening of Don't Be Prey, which follows Australian marathon swimmer, Mark Sowerby, as he tackles the infamous 'Oceans Seven', some of the toughest channel swims in the world. 🏊‍♂️👊

Screening at the State Cinema, North Hobart, on Thursday 21 May at 7pm.

The film will be followed by a Q&A with Mark live in Hobart, being interviewed by Sabra Lane.

Congratulations to the Devil of a Swim crew on running another successful event, especially accommodating the change of location to Muir's Beach this year. Has there ever been better weather for the weekend? 🏝️

The Devil marks the unofficial end of the open swimming season in Tassie as we all start bracing ourselves for the colder water to come 🥶.

What a fantastic day for marathon swimming in Tasmania yesterday. 🌞

Four swimmers completed a new 20km route in Lake Pedder, from Strathgordon to McPartlan Pass Canal. This was second leg in the Tasmanian Wild West swim series.

And .tanaka.swimmer became only the second person and first female to swim the 25.3km length of Yingina (Great Lake).

Great to see more people discovering the amazing places we have to swim here.

Congrats to all the swimmers. 🏊‍♀️🥳👏

Yingina (Great Lake), one of Tasmania's highest swimmable lakes, at just over 1000m altitude. Beautiful scenery, clean fresh water, and usually very windswept. But luckily not tomorrow. 🌞

Miu Tanaka 🇯🇵 of Sydney will attempt the 25km length of Yingina (Great Lake, Tasmania, Australia tomorrow morning local time (~7pm UTC). Follow her on MSF's live tracking platform at ultraswimming.org/track/miu_tanaka_great_lake

The final event in the Tasmanian Ocean Swim Series is coming up on Sunday 12 April. The longest event in the series, the Beach to Beach swim, from Blackmans Bay to Kingston, returns, offering those who breathe to the left some stunning views of the cliffs.

The standard swim is 2.6km but participants can add on an extra 2.4km loop to round up to 5km.

There are no race day entries, so make sure you register by MIDDAY on Saturday 11 April.

Cast & crew are together at last for the start of the first Tasmanian Wild West swim series, an exciting trio of swims in some of Tasmania's most special places.

First up is 24.5km down the spectacular - but chilly 🥶 - Gordon River. Current water temp around 13C. Swimmers are set to hit the water on Wednesday.

Good luck to all and enjoy being immersed in such a special place.
