Drills are predictable.
Sport isn’t.
In competition, nobody tells the athlete exactly when to sprint, where to move or which direction to change.
They have to see, decide, move and adapt.
Structured training has a place.
But eventually we have to give young athletes opportunities to solve movement problems themselves.
We’re not trying to build athletes who simply follow instructions.
We’re trying to build independent movers and problem-solvers.
Coaches and parents — are we developing better drills, or better problem-solvers?
