​She ran a slashing fourth in her semi-final, showing serious grit and heart to lock in her spot for the big one.

We’re excited to welcome all trainers to Stawell for our upcoming meeting. We know how difficult the costs of harness racing can be right now, so we want to help ease the load.

Every single horse that doesn’t run in the first three will receive a $50 fuel voucher. 🏆 WINNER: JUST LIKE NUGGET! 🏆

A massive congratulations to Stawell Life Member Jeff Hargraves and trainer Kate Hargraves on a fantastic victory! The Hargraves stable is absolutely flying, with Kate tasting success yet again at Ballarat last night.

It was a brilliantly judged drive by Ewa Justice to get the job done. Ewa gave him the absolute perfect trip, getting him off the pegs shortly after the start and settling beautifully into the 1-1 position. From there, he was always going to win the race! He might not have won by a massive margin, but the writing was on the wall.

It is great to see him bounce back so strongly after an unlucky run at Ararat, continuing his excellent form since breaking his maiden status early last month. We’d like to think there are quite a few more wins left in him yet! A very well-deserved congratulations to the entire Hargraves crew.

A special shoutout must also go to ImAllAttitude, who ran a cracking race to grab third in the same event. We are sure that fantastic effort would have put a big smile on the face of the Taylor camp! 🐴👏🎉

​- Last piece of fast work for Magellan before Melton! -

​She's all tuned up and ready to head to Headquarters this Saturday night, where she lines up in Race 4—the 3-year-old fillies' first semi-final!

​Drawing gate one is a massive bonus, and with her usual driver locked in and feeling a little bit confident, we couldn't ask for a better setup to get the absolute best possible trip.

​Kate knows the competition is going to be stiff—including a powerful stable boasting a three-pronged attack—but we're heading there with a fair degree of confidence.

Her effort in the heats was nothing short of enormous, storming home from the tail of the field

​Everything has gone to plan this week, and we're all hoping Jordie can steer her safely into the final and give this heat a serious shake. Let’s do this! 💙🔥

🐴🏁 Stawell & District Connections

It was a cracking weekend for our locals, starting with a massive shout out to Kate for her effort at Melton on Saturday night. Savon De Roche was forced to work early but showed incredible heart to stick on and run a very brave third. It was a gutsy performance that deserves a lot of credit.

Speaking of fantastic form, we have to send our congratulations up the Horsham Harness Racing Club and to our good friends at the Lane Stable. The Naked Art has hit a stunning vein of form recently, and the stable has her absolutely flying. Long may that success continue!

Looking ahead, we have a massive contingent of Stawell and district runners making the trip to Ballarat & District Trotting Club Inc this Wednesday. Here is how the local & District hopes line up:

Race 1: The Manning's kick things off with I'm Eddie, driven by Jason Ainsworth, while Kerryn will also feature in the opener with her own runner, Soho Majestic.

Race 2: The familiar team of Peter Manning and Kerryn join forces with Snickers Express.

Race 3: We are sending our very best wishes to our own Ken Taylor, who is currently recovering from a period of ill health. We wish him a speedy road back, and hopefully, his runner Dreamtime Lucky—steered by his go-to driver Luke Sutherland—can give him a well-deserved boost. Jason Ainsworth is also back on the scene in this race, taking the reins on Kaidenboy.

Race 6: Jason Ainsworth returns to the track later in the card with the old warhorse, Optimal.

Race 7: This sets up a brilliant local clash. Ken Taylor brings his up-and-comer I'm All Attitude, while Kate will be sending Just Like Nugget around. It will be an incredibly interesting battle for local bragging rights.

Race 8: Given the absolute flying form the Lane Stable is in right now, you simply cannot rule out their first starter, My Deepest Desire.

Race 9: Kerryn rounds out a busy day for the local and district team when she sends Our Ultimate Gracie around in the final event.
