How many people get their bloods checked for Vitamin D levels through winter?? I say this as vitamin D helps the immune system function properly.

Our range is between 50-70 so do yourself a favour and check yours as winter is coming to an end to see where you sit. It’s inexpensive, just see your local GP to book it in.

My Health Journey!

The passion I have for health was sparked by this man, my mentor, .
After having multiple health issues with my gut, energy and weight, I was fed up with feeling so low in life. I reached that point of frustration and wanted better for myself.
After coming across his health podcast and soaking up the wisdom he shared. I felt drawn and enrolled in his health certification purely to heal myself, I lab tested, went through gut rebuilding protocols, changed my diet and build my mindset. Under his guidance I’ve healed myself and become a Certified Integrative Health Practitioner! Dr Cabral has shared so much knowledge with me in a array of modalities including;

•Eastern philosophy

With this broad skillset of knowledge Im confident in helping myself, family and friends, and clients with health concerns from a natural way.

If you have any health issues with lethargy, hormones, weight loss/gain, inflammation, gut, food sensitivities/intolerances, mood etc please reach out and we can book in a free consultation to see if I can help.

There’s no need to accept the issues you may be feeling, let’s get you back to good health! We only have this one life and I want you to make the most of it.

Darkness

I saw this drawing and it hit me pretty hard, it reminds me of my friend. A friend who took his life a few days ago.

He had the cheekiest grin that reminds me of a Cheshire Cat. 😁
The quickest whit like that of a gunslinger in a Wild West movie.
A heart that always made me feel welcome and accepted. 💚

I could see your brittleness through the mask you wore but I felt you were still strong. Maybe it was just my hope. Maybe I should have asked more. Hindsight is a dangerous path sometimes.

I’ve accepted that you made the best choice with what you knew or could handle. As hard as that is.
I struggle with the sadness you must have been in an to know your family is hurting. 😔

I believe that feeling lonely is not a truth, it’s a feeling made by our mind. But we are definitely not alone, we are connected in so many ways. We just need to be open to it. I hope my family, friends even strangers feel this from me. I want to know, your thoughts, feelings. There’s nothing more in this world I’d love than to be than an ear for you, a shoulder to lean on, to just be heard. It’s easy for me to say this but I hope it’s heard and it’s utilised. I care for all walks of life.

I love you brother! 💚

This kid cracks me up, he lost his top 4 front teeth at about 18mths after falling off a chair and head butting a shelf. 😬

I was always worried they may never come through and if they did the night be all over the place but when this little beauty poked through this is how exited he was 🤣

We should all aim to be this excited in life! The simple things 🖖😁

Vitamin D ☀️ 🥬

Summers here and plenty of people love going to the beach, but did you know there are so many people who are Vitamin D DEFICIENT! ⬇️
We cover up so well and lather on the barrier creams but although we’re in the sun we don’t actually absorb much Vitamin D.
We need some exposure to the suns rays to take in the Vitamin D BUT there is a fine line of how much you need and getting burnt. I myself can get about 15mins before peak UV time then use blockers and cover up. Everyone is different but we need some exposure and that’s not just your face and hands either, full body exposure is best.

Studies have shown that too much UV damage causes skin cancer but too little can leave you with low Vitamin D levels which can lead to higher chances of skin cancer also due to lowered immune function.

You can ask your Doctor for a simple blood test to show your levels which ideally should be between 50-70 points.
Do yourself a favour and just check to see where you’re at in Summer and also again in Winter to see if you may need to supplement.

For any further information please ask I’d be happy to share some knowledge with you. ☀️

Food Allergies VS Food Sensitivities

Most people know what food allergies are and the main types of foods associated with them such as seafood, nuts, eggs, dairy and so on. 🥜 🦞 🥚

Allergies develop in the infancy stage and 4% of the population suffer from it. What happens is the immune system targets a certain food as harmful and decides to attack it and release histamines and other chemicals which trigger symptoms which can be severe or life threatening like;
•hives
•swelling
•tingling, itching
•nausea, vomiting
•anaphylaxis

They appear immediately to an couple of hours after consuming.
(IGe response)

Food sensitivities are quite different, they affect about 90% of the population and develop at any stage in life. Some of these are gluten/wheat, dairy, fruits/veg, corn, legumes and more.

Individual components of foods that cannot be properly processed and assimilated by the digestive system can lead to less serious but over time can cause a lot of chronic health issues and are know to lead to some auto immune dis-eases.

Symptoms include;
•chronic fatigue
•weight gain
•stubborn weight loss
•acne
•migraines
•bloating/gas
•mood swings
•brain fog, poor concentration/memory

Sensitivities have a delayed response of up to 72hrs after consuming. Which is why it’s so hard to track what it can be.
(IGg response)

We generally don’t even know they’re happening because it’s subtle at first and worsens overtime so we take it as “normal”. This stress on the body leads to many negative health conditions and keeps us from feeling our best.

Hope this info may help you, it’s good to question why we feel the way we do and really take an interest in how our body’s respond to foods.

Feel free to reach out for any questions.

What do Omega-3-6-9s do?

Omega-3-6-9 fatty acids are all important dietary fats.

Interestingly, each one has a number of health benefits for your body.

However, it's important to get the right balance of omega-3, -6 and -9 fatty acids in your diet. An imbalance may contribute to a number of chronic diseases.

Here is a guide to omega-3, -6 and -9 fatty acids, including what they are, why you need them and where you can get them.

Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fats, a type of fat your body can't make. So we need to out source them through foods. Small fish are the best source but there are vegan alternatives but the conversion rate isn’t as high for the body to absorb.

The positive benefits of Omega-3’s are:
*reduces inflammation
*improves heart health
*supports mental health
*supports brain function
*supports infant brain development
*decreases liver fat
*helps prevent dementia
*promotes bone health and so many more.

Unfortunately, the Western diet does not contain enough omega-3s. A deficiency may contribute to chronic diseases like obesity, diabetes and heart disease.

On a side note smaller fish species are recommended more so than the larger ones such as tuna, due to having higher amounts of heavy metals in them.

In my next post I’ll share some information on Omega-6 and -9’s

Had such a great weekend around Brownhill Creek and Sturt Gorge with some special girls 😉 (not another photo let’s just bloomin run already!)

As I sit here reflecting, I feel deeply inside, grateful and happy where I am, what I have and who I have in my life.
I used to not enjoy being on my own and always sought after friends to fill the space which I really do enjoy seeing but having this opportunity to just be by myself and have that time to ask myself what I want in life is really powerful, to be true to myself and not alter to just please others usually wasn’t my strong point. It doesn’t help anyone and is just a waste of time and energy, and what I’ve come to realise is that time is the most valuable currency to me, more so than money! Don’t get me wrong I’m more than happy to help people not to please them but because I feel great in doing it. So if it’s not a hell yeah for me I don’t bother and if it is I’m all in 😝

Magnesium and it’s benefits! 🏋️‍♀️

This super mineral has plays a massive role in our bodies, some of the functions include bone formation to make a strong skeletal system, energy production and protein synthesis by creating enzyme activation with in cells, prevents muscle and tissue calcification therefore allows muscle contraction and nerve conduction (helps with cramping too).

Another one that has helped me so much is relaxing the nervous system so I can sleep properly,
being a naturally high energetic person I am in flight/fight mode quite often and this raises cortisol and then to combat that calcium is released to bring it down and magnesium is drawn to reduce the calcium. So if you’re one who is anxious or stressed often, additional magnesium could benefit you.

Some of the symptoms of low magnesium are:
-anxiety, nervousness, fatigue
-insomnia, restless sleep
-muscle cramps
-constipation
-chocolate cravings
-high blood pressure
-headaches and migraines
-acid reflux

The journey 😌

I am a man amongst many men.
Not the first, not the last.
On a path that is of my own.
I’m not any greater than another, nor am I any less.
There are many I will share my path with but only for a time.
That shared time is what I value the most in life, that connection, that moment.
Chase the feeling that feels good and pure, but don’t be led into temptation of a path of sin.
If you’re on a path that has guilt, shame or any other feeling that is not of happiness, make a choice and change it.
Even if it may bring fear or uncertainty, for past that lies a life worth living.
Time won’t wait so why should you?
You’re allowed to change what you want, your desires, your thoughts.
Take a chance and go for it wholeheartedly, who knows what it holds on the other side.
Just remember, you can change again if you wish.
Have trust and faith, that alone will carry you.
The rest is a bonus, enjoy the time you’re in and give love to those whom are important in your life 😊
