Week 4: Whether You’re Steady or Drifting — You’re Still In This

As we move into Week 4 of the Winter Reset Challenge, it’s common for people to land in one of two places:

• Those who’ve stayed steady — showing up consistently, even if quietly, keeping a rhythm that feels manageable
• Those who’ve drifted a little — missing a class, losing structure, or feeling motivation taper off

Both experiences are completely normal at this stage.

Week 4 is where the nervous system shifts from “starting energy” to completion energy, and that transition can feel different for everyone. Some people naturally settle into a steady pace. Others feel the dip that often comes when the novelty wears off and the finish line still requires attention.

If you’re steady — keep going at the pace that’s working for you.
If you’ve drifted — you haven’t lost anything. Your system has still been adapting, even if your routine slipped.

What matters most this week isn’t intensity.
It’s reconnection.

Reconnection for:

• the small habits you’ve been building
• the reasons you started
• the sense of stability your body has been moving toward

Week 4 is where the work integrates.
It’s where the benefits become long‑term rather than temporary.
And it’s where returning — even gently — makes a meaningful difference.

Wherever you are today, you’re still part of this process.
You’re not behind. You’re not off track.
You’re right where you need to be to complete this final week.

The Solstice Yin tonight is almost full.

This is a once-a-year winter Solstice class.
75 minutes of deep Yin, followed by tea and chocolate sensory ritual to honour the changing light.

Seeing the tea
Smelling the chocolate
Feeling the warmth in your hands
Tasting the sweetness
Hearing the soft sound of pleasure your body makes when it finally slows down.

A moment to savour
A moment to soften
A moment to come home to yourself.

This Sunday we gather for Solstice Yin — a deep, spacious practice to soften into the stillness of midwinter.

We’ll close with a warming tea and chocolate ritual, crafted to nourish Yin energy, awaken the senses, and honour the slow return of Yang energy as the light begins its journey back.

A beautiful way to end the season and begin again.

Reset your rhythm, yogis… how did Week 2 land for you

This week was all about building your foundation — noticing your patterns, your resistance, and the choices you make when things get real.

A few reflections to drop into:
• Your resistance this week — what showed up for you
• How you navigated it — the choices that kept you aligned
• What you’re choosing for yourself now — and whether it reflects your true goals

Share below — I’d love to hear your Week 2 insights.

**Late post, sorry I closed the computer before it uploaded yesterday and did not realise until today 🙄…

Are you wanting more from your practice?
Do you ever wonder why your yoga practice stops feeling fulling over time?

It might be, in part, due to the modern shift away from the 8 limbs of yoga.

In most modern yoga classes, the primary physical practice focuses heavily on just two of the eight limbs: Asana (physical postures) and Pranayama (breath control). Because studios operate in a fast-paced, modern world, classes are generally designed around movement and stress relief, which naturally highlights the physical and physiological aspects of the practice.

However, a well-rounded modern yoga class still serves as a powerful "laboratory" or training ground for practicing all eight limbs, even if the teacher does not explicitly call them out by their traditional Sanskrit names.

Here is a quick breakdown of the 8 limbs:
1️⃣ Yamas (Social ethics) – Kindness, truthfulness, and how we treat the world around us.
2️⃣ Niyamas (Personal practices) – Self-discipline, cleanliness, and gratitude.
3️⃣ Asana (Physical poses) – Preparing the body to sit comfortably in meditation.
4️⃣ Pranayama (Breath control) – Harnessing our vital energy through conscious breathing.
5️⃣ Pratyahara (Turning inward) – Quieting outer distractions to look within.
6️⃣ Dharana (Concentration) – Training the mind to focus on a single point.
7️⃣ Dhyana (Meditation) – Finding a deep, uninterrupted flow of awareness.
8️⃣ Samadhi (Pure bliss) – Reaching a state of complete connection and peace.

Comment below f you want to develop your practice into something more, or you've been feeling like Yoga just isn't doing it for you any more.

I'd love to hear about your journey towards and possibly away from modern yoga classes.

Wrapping up week 1 of the challenge and beginning week 2. The end for the caterpillar is the beginning for the butterfly.
This is the cocooning process, an internal shift. The old habits, old beliefs, old sense of self, start to break down. Let them dissolve and trust those (now) old experiences have given you everything you need to step into this next stage. They are your building blocks, not your final expression.
