The Lambert Karate Dojo and Family Fitness Centre has been running in Goulburn since 1981 is a fully recognised member of both the International & Australia Okinawan Goju-r
yu Karate-do Federations (IOGKF & AOGKF). The IOGKF boasts overs 75,000 members in over 65 different countries - making it the largest Okinawan Karate organisation in the world. The goal of our centre is to spread traditional Okinawan Goju-ryu Karate-do as taught by IOGKF masters and passed down from our style founder, Miyagi Chojun Sensei. Our current head instructor, Sensei David Lambert, is a second generation Karate enthusiast, with his father and uncle (now both passed away) chief instructors for Australia and Scotland respectively. Sensei Lambert has spent an extended period of time training in Okinawa, Japan (the birthplace of Karate). He has taught all over the world including, in Europe, UK, North America, Oceania and even in Okinawa at the World martial arts festival - being the only Australian to have ever done so. Sensei Lambert is a member of the IOGKF International Mentorship Committee and is IOGKF Administrative Officer. In Goulburn, Sensei Lambert, along with his team of male and female black belt assistant and junior assistant instructors cater for Kids, teens, adults and families in a safe, fun and affordable environment. The centre's focus is to create better people through true karate training which will enhance the mind, body and spirit and believe that the underlying principle of respect in traditional karate is still of significant importance in today's society. They offer free trials for all newcomers and everyone is welcome to join the Karate family and also participate in the numerous friendship events held by the AOGKF each year. The social aspect of the club is also seen as valuable by all members who work together to support each other on their martial arts quest to reach their full potential
