Victorian Title Recap

Saturday Bairnsdale Speedway was hit with persistent drizzle which turned the track & pits into a quagmire, event going ahead got put on the drivers, majority of drivers voted to try continue the event, Bodge preferred to run Sunday an outlook of better conditions, being local we were certain the coastal easterly was set in & conditions wouldn’t change, understandable drivers from afar wanted to get it done.
We didn’t want to be on the rev limiter searching for grip or bin the car trying, with the rear heat draw we decided to put it on the trailer, maybe to a fews disgust.
But we run with no sponsors & tomorrow is another day, Sprintcar teams do it all the time, every teams $ituation is different.
After 4 Heats the event was cancelled & Sunday was the new race day. After all it wasn’t a bad call

Sunday we headed back & conditions were much the same, gumboots would’ve been handy.
Two hours after race start, we finally got a raceable surface, a bit of sun & thanks to drivers blowing off the slop, & their rear bumpers & quarters doing so, quite remarkable.

Bodge finished 5th & 4th in his 2 heats to qualify 8th for the B Main.
Track was dosed by water truck before race, made a tricky track for a last chance showdown. A few cautions later & the track started to come in & the car looked setup perfect. Much to our disgust the race was canned with 5 laps to go due to one too many yellows & we missed the A main by one position, would’ve been great if the driver that couldn’t keep it on the track got penalised instead. It takes 2 minutes to run 5 laps. That was our weekend done.

Big Congrats to Brendan on the Vic 1, true gasser & gives this class so much to look up to
Damo unlucky, so close & has been the man to beat all season, hopefully next year mate
Awesome drives by Jay Vic2 & Wazza Vic3in 6 cylinders threw everything at Miller Bros

We now look forward to our first outing at Hamilton April 11 for Round 7 JP Ashphalting E.S.S Series 🤙🏼

We didn’t go out for our first heat being off the rear with how the track was, nothing to gain , the event has been postponed due to persistent weather after first round of heats, they’re going to try run the event tomorrow from 10am , see what happens in the morning, they’re going to need a good blow drier

RD5 Horsham JP Ashphalting Extreme Sports Sedan Series

Heat1. Start P3 finished 3rd
Heat 2. Start P7 finished 7th
Heat 3. Start P4 finished 4th

Heat results put us 13th on points from 29 cars, 5 positions from a Pole Shuffle.

Starting 13th in the A Main , car was fast with good momentum till a couple of incidents in front pushed us back a few positions. An axle let go with lap or so to go, pulled infield giving us a P13 finish/ DNF

A solid effort for our first serious outing, amongst lots of seasoned fast cars. More laps will only see more improvements.

We will be back in the shed getting ready for Rosedale this weekend if they get enough nominations, if not you will see us at Bairnsdale for Rd 6 on the 28th Feb
