Know someone who makes our community a better place? Maybe it’s a volunteer who gives their time to help others, a community group who brings people together, or a mentor who supports and inspires young people, to name a few.

Now is your chance to recognise them and help us celebrate the people and groups making a difference across the City of Tea Tree Gully.

There are two award categories:
🏆 Outstanding Citizen of the Year
🏆 Outstanding Community Group of the Year

Last week, the Governor-General announced that Warrick Lee (Branch Commissioner for Aquatics) would receive a national bravery award, the Commendation for Brave Conduct.

Warrick was at home when he heard a commotion outside and saw an individual being set upon by an armed offender. Without hesitation, he leapt into action to assist, demonstrating incredible courage in a dangerous situation.

Scouting is all about supporting our community, helping one another and inspiring others to do the same, and Warrick is a fantastic example of these values in action.

We’ve already welcomed plenty of visitors, and it’s been fantastic sharing our love of Scouting and everything we have to offer.

Joeys for those aged 5 to 8 years of age
Cubs for those aged 8 to 11 years of age
Scouts for those aged 11 to 15 years of age
Evitica Venturer Unit for those aged 14 1/2 o 18 years of age

Scouting offers so much more than just what is at the hall.

Today's "Meet The Cast" interviewee is a member of Golden Grove Scout Group and has been since she was a Cub.

Now, she is involved with the young director aspect of Scouts Shouts Youth Theatre, with aspirations of exploring other aspects further down the track.

Why not support her, and the other youth members, involved with the show?

The next national chief Commissioner for Scouts Australia has been announced.

We are delighted to announce Ayden Mackenzie JP as the next Chief Commissioner of Australia.

With more than two decades of Scouting leadership experience, Ayden brings a wealth of expertise in youth development, organisational leadership and delivering quality Scouting programs. As he steps into this important national leadership role, we look forward to the experience, energy and vision he will bring to the future of Scouting across Australia. Ayden’s appointment will officially take effect from 22 November 2026.
