In-season is a tough time for S+C coaches. Trying to juggle soreness, fatigue, boredom and athletic prep requirements means creativity needs to come to the fore to keep players interested! Luckily a bye week presents itself this week an opportunity to load players with the additional rest time allowing players time to refresh after a busy, wet and competitive first 6 weeks of the season.

For our students, the term rolls into week 3 with most programs finding a bit of rhythm and looking like they’ll have a good little endurance/power block before testing.

ON THE AGENDA - LETS MARCH INTO APRIL!

Realising some gains with Bond and Burleigh AFL and a fun week planned for as we shift into the in-season phase of prep!

Working around La Niña remains the challenge, we shall see if our strategies work in the long run as we head into the Easter block.

We’re on a slight delay this week, but that’s ok!

My highlight was seeing our netball girls in action for the first time and seeing our Robina high program students complete their ADP program with enthusiasm more and more each and every week.

I’m having to rewrite programs and progress groups at a faster rate than we have been able to previously which is a credit to the students’ effort and perseverance.

Congrats to those who are putting in the effort and I can’t wait to see how each student progresses into Term 2!

WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS WEEK 10 2022!

Some big PBs and reward for effort for our girls at the end of pre-season! It’s been a good 2 months of training and we knew we were in a good position strength wise but these numbers were better than I expected.

Special mention to who has PB’d every lift plus her jumps compared to last year! Great job Lil.

Well done to everyone involved! Now to transfer the gains to training and matches!

ON THE AGENDA - WEEK 10 MARCH - RAIN RAIN GO AWAY! ⛈
🔘 Hopefully there’s no more rain this week as we try to get back on the track! Still managed to get some work done with our and Burleigh Bombers squads last week which was pleasing
🔘 Acceleration and speed are ramping up as we’re almost at in-season for footy!
🔘 programs should be back in the groove as schools are back on track and we’re past testing week!

Time to get on Facebook! Gyan here, coming to you from the sunny Gold Coast where the winter sport season is up and running. This page should be a way for everyone to keep up to date with what goes on week to week with what goes on during coaching sessions. I tend to post training videos like this timelapse of the senior Bond University AFL and U17 Girls Burleigh Bombers Junior AFL Club hitting the gym last week, running updates on what's on the agenda for our training weeks and any future opportunities for athletes to get involved in sessions and programs that we run.
