Ready to take on the adventure of a lifetime for a massive cause?
šŸ”ļøāœØ In April 2027, I am stepping well out of my comfort zone to tackle the Himalayan Challenge with Trek Ready Himalayas, all to support Shake It Up Australia in their mission to solve the Parkinson’s puzzle.

Parkinson’s disease is currently the fastest-growing neurological disorder in the world. Right now, over 250,000 Australians are living with the condition, and 38 more are diagnosed every single day. There is still no cure—but we can change that.

Here is why this trek matters so much:

100% Impact: Absolutely 100% of all donations raised go directly toward funding cutting-edge Australian medical research.

Real Progress: Funds directly back leading scientists who are actively uncovering breakthrough discoveries to slow, stop, and ultimately cure the disease.

Purpose-Driven Adventure: We are turning raw physical challenge into a global message of hope, resilience, and community spirit.

Every single step up those mountain trails is a step closer to a world without Parkinson's. I need your help to reach my fundraising target and power this vital research!

šŸ‘‰ How you can help: Click the link in my bio to donate, share this post, or join the team to trek alongside me in 2027! Let’s shake things up together. 🧔

šŸ˜€"The trouble is you think you have time, make time for a life, your life."

Ever feel like you're stuck in a loop of endless to-do lists and work emails? Sometimes it feels like we're running in circles, thinking there's always tomorrow to enjoy the things we love. But what if we flipped the script and started living for today?

Prioritizing your personal life doesn't mean neglecting responsibilities; it's about carving out moments that make you smile, like catching a sunrise, having a heartfelt chat with a friend, or just enjoying a quiet cup of coffee with no rush. Remember, time is the currency of life—spend it wisely.

šŸ—ļø Take a moment to pause and reflect. How can you integrate more joy into your daily routine? It might be as simple as taking a walk outside or starting a new hobby you've been curious about. Embrace the present, and let it enrich your life in ways that hustle never can.

What’s it really like to live with Young Onset Parkinson’s?

and what did i learn as a leader?

Well firstly i learnt that someone living with YOPD, is still a person that needs to be cared for, just like any other person. And that at times they may need a little more care and encouragement. But they are still an important human. And i need to acknowledge that .Did i get it right all the time, helll no. But I can get better at that. Someone with Young Onset Parkinson's Exchange , well its a progressive disease. Below are some insights from Sandis trek with us to Annapurna Base Camp with Nepal Spirit Adventure Pvt. Ltd.

It’s waking up every day not knowing exactly what your body has planned. Some mornings you move freely. Others, it feels like your limbs are stuck in wet cement. It’s stiffness, slowness, fatigue, and symptoms most people associate with much older age — showing up far earlier than expected.

It’s learning to adapt constantly. Planning your day around medication cycles. Managing symptoms quietly in public. Trying to explain something invisible to people who only see the surface.

But it’s also resilience.
It’s discovering strength you didn’t know you had.
It’s finding community with others who ā€œget itā€ instantly.
It’s celebrating small wins — a good day, a steady step, a moment of clarity.

Young Onset Parkinson’s changes your life, but it doesn’t take away your purpose. Many of us keep working, keep raising families, keep adventuring, keep fighting for better treatments and a future where Parkinson’s is no longer a life sentence.

If you know someone living with YOPD, check in. Listen. Support. Their battle is often silent, but never small.

Together, we can raise awareness, push for progress, and make sure no one faces Parkinson’s alone.
