Hi everyone, just a heads up, we will be closing the shop as at the 1st of August but we will re-open on the 11th of August. We need a bit of a break, it has been a mad year so far, and Dale and I need to recharge our batteries.

It is with great sadness that I have to announce the sad passing of our good friend, Brian.
Brian worked with us for quite a few years, and he was a dear, friend, colleague, and brother,
We had the pleasure of really getting to know him, which is what happens when you work in a small environment., warts and all, I think some would say, that applies to all of us..lol
We had much laughter, discussions, debates, and yes sometimes heated debates. However we never took them home.
He was a loved Son, Father, Brother and Grandfather.
When I lost David, he was a good ear, some may say he was a captive audience lol, but he was respectful, and kind.
Our hearts go out to Margaret, his mum. Rod his dad and Sarah, his sister. Also we are thinking of his children and grandbabies.
We met Brian, through bike riding, he was a mad keen bike rider. However that was not all, he love Remote Control Cars, he also loved working on cars, also he was a fount of knowledge regarding foods and what they do to the body.
Dale and myself, will truly miss our friend.
We love you mate, I pray that you are now chewing the cud, with David in Heaven.

Hi all, just wanted to wish everyone Happy Easter.
Just to advice you all that we are Shutting for the Easter long weekend. We shut Thursday afternoon, and we re-open Thursday the 9/4/26.
Dale and yours truly need a bit of a break. It has been hectic since we opened back up after christmas.
So once again, everyone have a safe and loving time with family and friends. Don't eat to much Chocolate. Note to self, I think🤣🤣

Good afternoon, just a small reminder that regarding E-Scooters, all we do, is replace tubes. If it needs new tyres, then the onus is upon the owner to supply the tyre. We will fit the tyre and replace the tube [we can supply the Tube], if need be and we will put sealant in if it is Tubeless. Thank you.

Well what is on my mind, I hear you say. Well why is it you remember the people that are difficult, but the beautiful people, which there are still many around, even though the world would have it the other way, [I digress]. You tend to really enjoy the company, even if it is fleeting, of the lovely people and you still remember them, but you aren't agonising over them. However the pain in the proverbial, is so hard sometimes to deal with. You do deal with them, in a professional way and yes you do go over it in your quite moments, which I hate. I have often thought about all the signs that you now see everywhere, about abuse, and no tolerating it etc, and that really saddens me, that we have come to this. I am now thinking about putting up a sign in my shop, it will be something like this.....

If you have come with a grumpy attitude, please leave it at the door. We will not serve you or even countenance your existence. We find that kindness and respect goes a lot further. OR...
You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.
Which one. I know that we are not always perfect, but we do our absolute best to be as close to perfect as possible.

So there you go, that is what is on my mind at the moment. I hope you all have a very blessed day, and remember to leave all attitudes at home...Hummm note to self🤣🤣🤣

Well a hearty 'Happy New Year' to you all. I just want to take this time to thank everyone for your support last year. It was a funny year, like most, I had my ups and my downs. I did not finish the year like I thought I would. For those who reached out to me and I did not respond, I do apologise. I do have a reason, I was in hospital. On the Sunday before Christmas, I decided to do some pest control in my home. The up shot from that was, I nearly killed myself, with the fumes, and it brought on a heart attack. I had to ring the Paramedics, {that was hard as I could not breath or talk}, and I was rushed to the Gladstone Base hospital. The Paramedics, where so wonderful. Gee they were great, I was a mess when they arrived, and they put me at ease very quickly. I have to say, I was given wonderful care in the Emergency Department. I did not believe them, when they said that I had had a heart attack, of course I know better😂. Anyway, from there I was flown by the Royal Flying Doctors, -now that was an experience, what a wonderful organisation,- down to the Prince Charles Hospital, where again I received wonderful care. They found that I had something called, 'Broken Heart Syndrome'. So it was the pressure of the coughing and not being able to draw breath, that had brought on the heart attack. I had an angiogram and they found that yes I do have a heart, but more importantly, other than what had happened, my heart is in good condition, which is good news. Now the only reason I am sharing this is to thank my wonderful family, especially my daughter, Samantha, who stepped up and stood in my place the last 3 days before Christmas, bless her she does not have a back ground in Retail but she was there. Also my son, who stepped in, and took time out from running his own business, he was wonderful. However I do want to say how proud I am of Dale. Once again he stepped up and was a champion. So the combination of, Dale, Sam, Ryan and my grandson Diezel, they all fitted in and did their part. So even though I was stressing about my business, and not wanting to let anyone down, my team had my back and I will always be grateful.
So as I start a new year, I obviously am reminded on how life is precious, and how not to take anything for granted. So as I always say, love those who are in your family, do not let anger, be your last word when you leave home. Also just take time to be in the moment. Yes you can plan and work for something, but nothing is guaranteed. Anyway enough from me!!

Well finally I have got the Maxxis 'HookWorm' tyres in, it's been a wait I tell yah. Very popular!! They are the 27.5 size but I still have the 29r size coming in. Just wanted to let everyone know. They are really good for the E=Bikes, and of course general riding for all other types of bikes.

So things are starting to ramp up for Christmas. I have got Mongoose Bikes 16" and 20" either in stock or coming in. I have a good range of 20" BMX's. I have Cross Bikes, Recreational Bikes, Entry Level Bikes, and of road. Come and look, just please remember that every bike has a different story, and it is really hard to just look. Unless you are looking for one particular brand, that I don't stock; but I do service them!
Looking at another range of Full Face Helmet too, nice colours, and for Full Face not a bad price. They are of course Australian Standard and Approved. So I will have a deeper look.

Well a hearty hello from us to you where ever you are.
it is 32 days to Christmas. I can't believe that, well yes I can, but where has the year gone. So come in and say hello, Dale and I are always up for a chat. I have all sorts of stock. From Gloves for Road, to MTB to BMX. I have a nice range of pedals, different colours and different styles, really I have quite a good range. I have just about every WT Tubeless Ready Maxxis Tyres, if I don't have them it's because they are not in stock yet. I know that some of you are waiting for 'Hook Worms' for your E-Bikes. Still waiting.
Helmets.
I am now concentrating on a particular style of helmet. It is called Kinetic Core, by 'Lazer', [they have been making helmets for 100 years] it's sort of like an air bag for your head. They come in MTB and URBAN, style. They are great. I also have or course, MIPS helmets, they are 'Giant' brand, not a huge range, but I do have them. I can also get a brand called LEATT helmets, [dealing with this company for 32 years], their protection is called, 360 Turbine. It is reasonably new to the market, not LEATT, but the Turbine structure inside. I am still sitting on the sideline regarding the Turbines. I must admit, I do like the Kinetic Core Helmets. However don't take my word for it, come in and try one on. The sizing are from, 'Finch' 50-56, 'Lupo' 56-61, so as you can see good range of sizing's and they bring out some lovely colours. I also am now stocking a 'Full Face' helmet. Just your basic black, it is a 'Jet Black' brand. All Australian Standard and approved of course.
We are still of course doing services, and Disc Brakes and all the accoutrimonts that goes with bikes. Basically everything from, your Department Store bike, to your Full Suspension Down Hill Bike. We build wheels ect, so there is not much that we can't do. The only thing we will not do, and that is because we are not qualified to do, it the Electrical on E-Bikes and E-Scooters. With E-Bikes we do the services but not anything electrical. With E-Scooters, we do the Tyres [but you have to supply the tyre as they are not a Bicycle Industry part], however we have the standard tubes.
Well that's about it. If you could share this with other people that would be great. As already said, Face Book, Memorialised my first Gladstone Bicycle Centre account as it was run by David. So I have to start again. Never mind. Talk soon. God Bless😀

Well I have had to start again. Meta has 'Memorialised' David's FB account so that meant that our Gladstone Bicycle Centre, account has also been Memorialised. So you can still see photos but that is it. So here I go again.
So things are now ramping up for Christmas. I cannot believe that we are nearly at that time of the year. I am still in February. If you are looking for certain brands, please contact us here, as quite a few models of certain brands are not available, some actually aren't available until early next year. Which is a shame especially as you might want one as a Christmas present.
Not much more to say, except, come in and see what we have and please don't wait until the last minute because I cannot guarantee that you will have it by the time that man in the red suit comes😂
