Umpireology is initiative created by AFL Barwon Senior Field Umpires Coach Joshua James.
Throughout the season, field umpires have competed against each other in a questionnaire that's aimed to enhance public speaking skills by the umpiring group.

Building confidence for public speaking , It puts umpires' knowledge of the game to the test and having a laugh while learning AFL laws of the game in an alternate manner.

Umpires are also tested on the game's long history and interesting facts about the game with a positive, supportive and fun environment with a competitive edge at the same time.

This is the third season of Umpireology with this year's champion being Hamish Irvine and runners up being Jess Crucitti and Tim Callander, each receiving an AFL Umpire shirt for their efforts.

Well done to all umpires involved in this year's Umpireology and all the best for the final's series.
