The Good For Footy Toyota Raffle is still up and running!

We have amazingly raised $1840 so far, for our wonderful club. We would like to thank everyone who has purchased a ticket so far, our club couldn’t run without the on going support of our community.

Each ticket is $5, and each ticket purchase goes straight back to our club! There are many great prizes up for grabs for those who enter the raffle, including some great cars!

Greetings Giants.
Our club has a massive set of commitments throughout the GFNL Final series. On top of our responsibility for alcohol sales at all finals, our magnificent facility is hosting the first two weeks of finals. We will require many volunteers over the four weeks. We are particularly looking for volunteers who have an RSA.
Please study the attached Google Sheet and add your name if you are able to help. This fundraising opportunity will benefit the entire club so it is expected that we have volunteers from all sections.

GFL Senior Football will be playing for the Ron Sells Cup out at Windsor Park vs. North Shore this Saturday. St. Peter's legend Ron, grandfather to Patrick Eastman, Kathryn Eastman and Noah Gribble and uncle to the Kelly boys, Max and Sam, was considered by many to be the best local player of his generation. Ron won multiple club and league B&Fs while playing for St. Peters and he then went on to coach at North Shore.
While finals are now just out of our grasp, we can still have a big day of wins on Saturday, including taking out the Ron Sells Cup.

Only two days to go to the Wine and Cheese Night...I think there's a soccer game on as well. Here's the plan: Purchase your tickets at the Giants Shop (they will also be available at the door). Get yourself ready at half time of the game, then once the full time whistle has blown, head to West with a heart full of the joy of victory. Then have an excellent night of sophistimacated fun and frivolity.

Five days to go to our Wine and Cheese Night, where the rooms will be buzzing with sophisticated conversation and witty repartee, fueled by exquisite wines sourced by Chas Cole sommelier, Josh Torney.
Our band is Laxo Hiatus, featuring our very own good blokes and player dads in Bernard Leavold, Andrew Smigowski, Michael Noonan and filling in on drums, Richie Helmer.
There will also be the opportunity to bid on some wonderful items in the Silent and Live Auctions. Check out this beautiful piece of Winx memorabilia donated by Darrell Fenton.

Nine days to go.
We have many wonderful goods and services rolling in for our Wine and Cheese Night auctions, but there is always room in the catalogue for more.
If you have items that need to be dropped off the office will be open tomorrow night and obviously on Saturday.

Help Needed...
Webby can't be at West to run the BBQ on Saturday, therefore we will need help to make burgers, egg and bacon rolls and snags between 10.00am and 3.00pm.
We are hoping to get two volunteers for each of two 2.5 hr shifts.

Greetings Giants.
There are only two weeks to go till the Wine, Cheese and Auction Night.
Don't forget that we require the assistance of volunteers over the next few weeks to undertake specific tasks to ensure the night runs smoothly, and that as much fun as possible can be had.
If you are able to help with any of the tasks outlined on the attached doc and you would like to help, please add your name, reply to this post or contact Paul on 0425851701.
**Note, we really need assistance with cataloguing auction items and planning activities on the night. There is a meeting at West at 6.30pm this Wednesday August 2nd. If you are able to help, please attend.
This is also a reminder call for donations of AUCTION ITEMS. We require donations of GOODS and SERVICES small and large to support our SILENT and MAJOR auctions. Examples are : food, drink, hampers, sports memorabilia, gym visits, golf packages, sporting goods, clothing and accessories, travel/accommodation gift cards, electronics, vouchers of all kinds, trade services, family fun (e.g. Adventure Park), kids stuff, tradie services, house and garden, pet supplies etc. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
Please also reach out to family, friends and workplaces.

It is a great honour to be hosting many of these fine gentlemen as they reunite to commemorate the 2010 GFL Reserves Premiership.

On that fateful day they overcame all odds and expectations to write themselves into GFL history and into our club folklore.

In recognition of NAIDOC Week, we will be wearing our Indigenous jumpers and netball dresses for this weekends Senior GFL, GDFL and Women’s Football matches across Geelong.

Our Indigenous jumpers and dresses were designed by Ethan Liddle, one of our Senior GFL Football players. Here is the story, told by Ethan -

For Geelong West Giants, one of our major trademarks in our club is being united.

In the middle of the G are symbols that represent the players who play for Geelong West Giants.
These symbols also represent the Geelong West community, the coaches, managers, members and those who volunteer their time to the club. running water for players, canteen duties, physios and the player sponsors all who are a part of the club.

In the G we also have the Aherre (Kangaroo) and Arleye (Emu) Impatye (tracks).

These track symbols are the tracks to success. They are the tracks that past players left for us to follow that pathway to moving forward. Current players at Geelong west are now paving the way to being successful, and setting good examples for the next generation of players coming through and following our pathway as well.
