Junior club member Lucas with his birds at this year's Royal Adelaide Show 2024. Lucas entered 6 pigeons in with the big boys this year not the juniors and had great success with 3 1st 2 2nd's and a 3rd. Well Done buddy.

Congratulations, Lucas.
On winning the Gawler and Districts 2024 ring race.
Lucas bought 2 rings for $50 out of his own money and bred 2 birds. He said the bird is bred out of dads 4th assoc Alice Springs last year, and the father is out of dads assoc winner from Coober Pedy and Uncle Nathan's assoc winner from Glendambo Open. He lost 1 bird earlier in the year, so he only had 1 bird left to race. So, it just shows that all it takes is 1 bird. Gotta be in it to win it. He also didn't select the bird for his 5 birds for the juniors as he said he didn't like the feel of the bird. It didn't have a apple body and was a c**k bird. It was a nervous wait for him. The winning bird was BBPC SA 23 20536, taking out first club and 64th in the assoc.
Well done Lucas on winning the $500 cash.

Congratulations to Rick & Len Drew, Joe Halligan and Tim Fawcett on picking up the prize money for our sale last year. Rick & Len bought the squeaker that Tim kindly donated to our sale and it placed 5th association in the Glendambo YBC which was all it had to do to collect the cash. It was the highest placed squeaker in the 2023 racing season from our sale SA 22 9271 BBC Flyer $350 Breeder $150 WELL DONE BOYS

Gawler junior members Lucas and Rory Williams entered some pigeons in this years Royal Adelaide Show. The boys were very happy with with the results. Lucas got First Champion in Juniors with his Tiger Grizzle and also First Reserve Champion with another Tiger Grizzle and Rory received Third place with his Junior Association winner from this year. Well done boys you look so happy!

Wirraminna was the release point for the SAHPA on the weekend due to heavy fog at Glendambo. We had 8 Flyers sending 122 birds from our club. In 1st place was Neville Tymms, Jamie Williams took out 2nd, 3rd and 4th place with Tim Wickham in 5th place. Neville also finished 3rd in the SAHPA open bird clocking.
Well done to our club members who also took part in the Alice Springs Marathon 1300 km N of Gawler. In open results from Alice Springs, Jamie Williams placed in 4th and 12th. Junior flyer Lilly Harrison was placed in 17th position with Tim Wickham in 32nd and Harrison Family in finishing in 40th position.
Next week we race from Little Topar 450km NE from Gawler.
