Lockyer Valley AFL 9's Lockyer Valley AFL 9s is easy to play, not too physically demanding and provides an environment where fun, enjoyment and safety are a priority.

Lockyer Valley AFL 9's is the Australian Football League's fun, fast and exciting alternative version of the game. This version enables people of any age and ability level to play in mixed teams. By simply 'tweaking' a few of the rules to make it easier to play and less physically demanding, it has created a game that is great fun for all involved.

So far only a handful wanting to have a run. So time is running out to organize this event and without at least 6 teams it would be hard to run, so come on all we need is around a total of 60 to 78 players to kick it off (ATM only have about 25) So get on board and not only have some fun with fitness LOL but also to fund raise to get the Demons club up and running again.

Looking to see if we can get a minimum 6 teams or more interested in playing AFL 9s by the 25th of October to run for 8 weeks plus a finals night to the 20th December TBC more info to come if we can get interest ASAP

Teams can be made up of a family, a business, other sporting groups or a made up team of 12, it is not limited to just sport minded person so get a team of 12 together at least 3 females players in each team aged 15yrs and over so get on board the AFL 9s adventure and support your local Aussie Rules Footy Club.

Well the Final was played between the Cooks and the Dropbears Tuesday night and from all accounts it was a close game to finish the 9s off on for 2015

Cooks winning 3-4-1 = 52 Def Dropbears 1-4-3 = 36

We would like to thank all those who joined up and played and to the volunteers Lance who ended up having to umpire, Rosie for acting as collections and book keeping, and Sam, Helene, for also helping with setting up and washing without everyone this would not run.

So merry x-mas and happy new year please be safe and hope to see everyone next year in 2016

Hi everyone just personally want to apologise to everyone at last nights AFL 9s !! it is not acceptable for the way I lost my myself last night which was all over the way I was badgered and constantly harassed for the way I was calling the game and treated like crap. I am tired of trying to support our club which is a 24/7 job with only a few dedicated persons. Like myself we only want the best for our club, and too build a fun and close nit group but to only be constantly questioned or belittled continuously is not acceptable ! and while this is from a minority ! and of course these are usually ones who sit on the fence, or in the background, and are not really there for the club.

As for last night if anyone wants to pick up the whistle please fell free to do so, and as I fully take responsibility for my actions I think a few persons should look at their lack of respect and actions over something that is being run for fun and raise funding to run the club due to monies owed, and that was not fun !!!. I will not tolerate nor should anyone have to tolerate the way I was treated last night, and this is the reason why no one wants to be an official. I hate nothing worst than being accused of being unfair and not consistent with ungrateful and ignorant persons who do nothing but be negative to officials ! all teams has been given the rules and code's of conduct especially towards the umpiring which is the same in competition footy which is accept the calls and move on with the game and play in the spirit of the game. I had every right to stopped the game last night which only had less than 5 mins left and it was not an easy call for me to do and the whistle was there for anyone to complete the game. On a good note and barring the ending of that game it was a great contest in both games with the majority who got on and just played footy so well done guys.

As of last night I have removed myself from all duties to do with the 9s as I do not want to coarse the club anymore disharmony and again truly apologise for my actions. I love my footy and our club and can only hope everyone will support the club by getting on and having fun in the spirit of the game thank you all.

I would like to make mention of a few things that happened tonight during our 9's game. There a few people who dedicate an exceptional amount of their own time to the improvement and growth of our footy ball club....Tony Bowers is one of these people. I would like everyone to think about this for a minute, Tony has set in place a 9's comp for us all to play and have fun. Tonight was not a fun game. With constant questioning of the umpiring, ( myself included and I would like to extend my apologies for my part in the umpire questioning) and people thinking they can over power the umpire. But let's put it into perspective, yes the game was shortened, but it was approximately 4 minutes of game time. This is not something to loose sleep over. This is meant to be a FUN game. Let's get back to this. I know we are all competitive people and love to win, but this is not for sheep stations. I would love everyone to just play the game in the spirit it was meant to be, good spirited. Let's just enjoy the game and have fun guys and gals.

Unfortunately last week saw the Hornets forced to Forfeit against the Cooks, which of course no one likes to do, it lets down not only your own team but the opposition as well, and a loss of fundraising for the club. So guys if you cant play for whatever reason please help your team out and find a replacement.

The other game played between the Dropbears and Dee's was a very hard fort and close game at half time and while the Dropbears got away a little in the second half it was a good game of footy, well done guys.
